|Syria - Details Of The Battle Between US And Russia by bookface: 6:30pm On May 28, 2018|
The day began with little hint of the battle that was about to unfold.
A team of about 30 Delta Force soldiers and Rangers from the Joint Special Operations Command were working alongside Kurdish and Arab forces at a small dusty outpost next to a Conoco gas plant, near the city of Deir al-Zour.
Roughly 20 miles away, at a base known as a mission support site, a team of Green Berets and a platoon of infantry Marines stared at their computer screens, watching drone feeds and passing information to the Americans at the gas plant about the gathering fighters.
At 3 p.m. the Syrian force began edging toward the Conoco plant. By early evening, more than 500 troops and 27 vehicles — including tanks and armored personnel carriers — had amassed.
In the American air operations center at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, and at the Pentagon, confounded military officers and intelligence analysts watched the scene unfold. Commanders briefed pilots and ground crews. Aircraft across the region were placed on alert, military officials said.
Back at the mission support site, the Green Berets and Marines were preparing a small reaction force — roughly 16 troops in four mine-resistant vehicles — in case they were needed at the Conoco plant. They inspected their weapons and ensured the trucks were loaded with anti-tank missiles, thermal optics and food and water.
At 8:30 p.m., three Russian-made T-72 tanks — vehicles weighing nearly 50 tons and armed with 125-millimeter guns — moved within a mile of the Conoco plant. Bracing for an attack, the Green Berets prepared to launch the reaction force.
At the outpost, American soldiers watched a column of tanks and other armored vehicles turn and drive toward them around 10 p.m., emerging from a neighborhood of houses where they had tried to gather undetected.
A half-hour later, the Russian mercenaries and Syrian forces struck.
The Conoco outpost was hit with a mixture of tank fire, large artillery and mortar rounds, the documents show. The air was filled with dust and shrapnel. The American commandos took cover, then ran behind dirt berms to fire anti-tank missiles and machine guns at the advancing column of armored vehicles.
For the first 15 minutes, American military officials called their Russian counterparts and urged them to stop the attack. When that failed, American troops fired warning shots at a group of vehicles and a howitzer.
Still the troops advanced
American warplanes arrived in waves, including Reaper drones, F-22 stealth fighter jets, F-15E Strike Fighters, B-52 bombers, AC-130 gunships and AH-64 Apache helicopters. For the next three hours, American officials said, scores of strikes pummeled enemy troops, tanks and other vehicles. Marine rocket artillery was fired from the ground.
The reaction team sped toward the fight. It was dark, according to the documents, and the roads were littered with felled power lines and shell craters. The 20-mile drive was made all the more difficult since the trucks did not turn on their headlights, relying solely on thermal-imaging cameras to navigate.
As the Green Berets and Marines neared the Conoco plant around 11:30 p.m., they were forced to stop. The barrage of artillery was too dangerous to drive through until airstrikes silenced the enemy’s howitzers and tanks.
At the plant, the commandos were pinned down by enemy artillery and burning through ammunition. Flashes from tank muzzles, antiaircraft weapons and machine guns lit up the air.
At 1 a.m., with the artillery fire dwindling, the team of Marines and Green Berets pulled up to the Conoco outpost and began firing. By then, some of the American warplanes had returned to base, low on either fuel or ammunition.
The United States troops on the ground, now roughly 40 in all, braced their defenses as the mercenaries left their vehicles and headed toward the outpost on foot.
A handful of Marines ran ammunition to machine guns and Javelin missile launchers scattered along the berms and wedged among the trucks. Some of the Green Berets and Marines took aim from exposed hatches. Others remained in their trucks, using a combination of thermal screens and joysticks to control and fire the heavy machine guns affixed on their roofs.
A few of the commandos, including Air Force combat controllers, worked the radios to direct the next fleet of bombers flying toward the battlefield. At least one Marine exposed himself to incoming fire as he used a missile guidance computer to find targets’ locations and pass them on to the commandos calling in the airstrikes.
An hour later, the enemy fighters had started to retreat and the American troops stopped firing. From their outpost, the commandos watched the mercenaries and Syrian fighters return to collect their dead. The small team of American troops was not harmed. One allied Syrian fighter was wounded.

How many times this news go
Secretary of Defense James Mattis explained Thursday why he directed a strike that reportedly killed hundreds of Russian mercenaries in Syria back in February.
Mattis told the Senate Armed Services Committee that the U.S. has a deconfliction line with Russia to ensure that the two countries can communicate in order to avoid direct conflict with one another in Syria. He said that a group of "irregular forces" were in conflict with U.S. forces, and once it was ascertained that those forces were not Russian regulars, Mattis directed a counterattack.
"The Russian high command in Syria assured us it was not their people, and my direction to the chairman was for the force, then, to be annihilated," Mattis said. "And it was."
The force comprised hundreds of Russian mercenaries, which then-CIA Director Mike Pompeo attested to when he said the U.S. killed "a couple hundred Russians." On Thursday, the Senate confirmed Pompeo to be President Donald Trump’s secretary of state.
Asked about whether the Russian Federation was harassing U.S. forces in Syria, Mattis stopped short of blaming Russia for particular battlefield actions.
"I cannot target the responsibility to the Russians right now," he said. "It is a crowded battlefield; it’s also got Iranians there and, of course, the regime forces as well."

LOL, there's not going to be a third world war. Russians are only good at bluster, nothing more. Just look at all the events

Trollers everywhere with pigmified entities warped in absolute delusion.
Killed hundreds of Russians--yeah. Pompey and Martis were able to ID every single one of them even when they didn't get their bodies. The American Wonders shall never end.
And who are these niggas like me celebrating the alleged death of 100s of Russian mercenaries? Need I remind you of the uncountable deaths of western and blackwater mercenaries that died during the heavy bombardment of the Donestk Airport t in 2014 by covert Russian forces?
And going back to Syria, what happened to the initial story that it was Russian regular forces that were killed.? And now that it turned out to be "mercenaries" it has to be 100s of Russian mercenaries, especially the types that speak fluent American English on YouTube while perfectly using American street cursing and swearing slangs during the video interview. .
These Russians must be amazing.

Calm your tits bro, see below for an audio account of what took place.
Audio Reportedly Captures Russian Mercenaries Describing Humiliating Defeat By US In Syria
"The reports that are on TV about … well, you know, about Syria and the 25 people that are wounded there from the Syrian f— army and — well … to make it short, we’ve had our asses f— kicked. So one squadron f— lost 200 people … right away, another one lost 10 people … and I don’t know about the third squadron, but it got torn up pretty badly, too … So three squadrons took a beating … The Yankees attacked … first they blasted the f— out of us by artillery, and then they took four helicopters up and pushed us in a f— merry-go-round with heavy caliber machine guns … They were all shelling the holy f— out of it, and our guys didn’t have anything besides the assault rifles … nothing at all, not even mentioning shoulder-fired SAMs or anything like that … So they tore us to pieces for sure, put us through hell, and the Yankees knew for sure that the Russians were coming, that it was us, f— Russians … Our guys were going to commandeer an oil refinery, and the Yankees were holding it … We got our f— asses beat rough, my men called me … They’re there drinking now … many have gone missing … it’s a total f— up, it sucks, another takedown … Everybody, you know, treats us like pieces of s— … They beat our asses like we were little pieces of s— … but our f— government will go in reverse now, and nobody will respond or anything, and nobody will punish anyone for this … So these are our casualties.”
“Out of all vehicles, only one tank survived and one BRDM [armored reconnaissance vehicle] after the attack, all other BRDMs and tanks were destroyed in the first minutes of the fight, right away.”
“Just had a call with a guy — so they basically formed a convoy, but did not get to their f— positions by some 300 meters. One unit moved forward, the convoy remained in place, about 300 meters from the others. The others raised the American f— flag, and their artillery started f— ours really hard. Then their f— choppers flew in and started f— everybody. Ours just running around. Just got a call from a pal, so there are about 215 f— killed. They simply rolled ours out f— hard. Made their point. What the f— ours were hoping for in there?! That they will f— run away themselves? Hoped to f— scare them away? Lots of people f— so bad [they] can’t be f— ID’d. There was no foot soldiers [on the American side]; they simply f— our convoy with artillery.”

Russia is learning fast that USA under dithering Obama is NOT the same USA under Trump and Mattis. Mattis is ruthless, in his testimony to congress, he pointedly said "I ordered the approaching forces annihilated, and they were", not giving a single Fk whether they were Russians or not. It's become clear too many times, that Russia only prefers the narrative of big power conflict to appear big on the international stage, but when push actually comes to shove, she always ends up backing down--- like Turkey shooting down her Jets, US slapping around her allies, Israel bombing Syria and Iran without a single Fk. This has been the pattern every single time.
If it had been Obama, the 45 US servicemen that came under attack would either have been captured (like Iran did do US sailors) or killed. But Trump is a completely different animal . I wonder if Iran would try that rubbish again this time.
No one is celebrating by the way. But this is war. Those guys that got killed also planned to kill someone else. It's just a bit more difficult to go against 45 American Green Berets that are backed by the baddest firepower on earth than it is going against radical Syrians with small amours. Those guys took the wrong target and they got their ass torn.

You just corroborated the point I have been making. So Russians now speak fuuuuked up and 'kicked our assses'..... my friend, don't tell me you believed these crap. Tell me it's some mercenaries from other English speaking countries that speaks such fluent slants and obscenities. Even British mercenaries don't speak like that.....lol
Besides, people could have been killed but saying they are hundreds of Russians without even ID-eing the bodies shows the entire thing is a scripted stereotyped cheap and immature propaganda. Only kids will fall for that.
No hundreds of Russian mercenaries will march against US forces just for the fun of it. And even if they did, putting them at hundreds without any facts of confirmation is a disservice to the spirit of western propaganda.
They usually do better than this.

Take it easy, gringo.... Calm down your nerves... Obama actually did worse to Russia personally than what Trump has done so far. So Russia isn't learning anything. The usual US style of doing things never changed, whether under Obama or Trump because the the forces that drives American Foreign Policy, especially in the Middle East are the ones pulling the strings from the shadows. Obama was more pragmatic and tacit in decision making (some might say he is being biased towards the state of Israel) while Trump though intelligent is erratic. But at the end, they both achieved the same goals (knowingly or unknowingly) for the forces that dictates US Foreign Policy. And that's the Establishment/Millitary Industrial Complex and the Israeli Lobby. And what do they achieve? Put the noose on Iran for the sole interest of Israel and make sure Russia remains the bad guy cause its good for business.
You forgot your Orange man wanted to quit from Syria and that same week the deliberations were on in DC, a chemical attack was carried out in Syria. And of course, who else 'could have done it if not evil Assad), and immediately the Trumpster was conned and convinced to stay... It was mission successful for the forces behind closed doors.
So whoever has been there will do what America is doing right now, Trump or no Trump.
Again, Israel has been bombing Syria since the beginning of the crisis and Russia gat no beef with that. Just as Turkey was bombing the living daylight out of the American trained and backed Syrian Kurds and Washington did nothing. It's a game of interest and compromise.
And you tacitly failed to mention that the same Turkey that shot down Russia jet and who could not fly its airforce for months into Syria after that has made amend since then and is now ally with Russia, to the ire of the US.
Call it geopolitics at its finest.
The braggado aside, Russia's policy to Syria is still the one towering above the rest which says Assad must go, but the Bear says he must stay, and till date, the strongman of the once most secular state in the Middle East still remains in power.
So the joke is on whom?
Certainly not on Russia. Case closed.

We can only find out if only your Marines/Sailors/GreenBerets - can man up & try encroaching on the Iranian territorial waters again like they did back in January 2016 - especially now that Trump pulled out of the JCPOA.

LOL... Bookface loved to glory in America's exemptionalism which only towers in the face of third-world hapless nations but cowed behind the curtains of sabber rattling when faced with a much advanced opponent.
They said Assad must leave but Russia says he must stay, and till date, Assad still rules. The more they play the chemical attack card, the more their folly keeps showing while Assad keeps solidifying its grip on the rest of the country. If the US have the power they usually boast of, then let them bomb Assad from power.
Paper tiger that always love to prey on deers.

Yeah... Any foreign power can enter Syria airspace, carryout airstrikes and leave... But none can bomb Assad from power, and that is what Russia has done.

here you go:
The lesson here is simple, don't go to fight against the most potent force in history of mankind, else you'd get your arse handed out to you!
All that talk about s400 and whutnut is just talk! the US military is too potent and too deadly.

Homs, Palmyra, Deir Ezzor, Aleppo, Ghouta and the Qalamoun region in whole and soon Daraa and the borders of the Golan Height, etc
Assad still remains in power. Even so, 6 years after so many western and israeli officials had predicted he would soon be gone.
That's the shitt Russia has done..
