A driver of Oyo State-owned mass transit bus yesterday killed a secondary school pupil in Ibadan. The accident, which attracted other pupils, resulted in a mob attack on the bus, popularly called Ajumose. People vandalised the vehicle by smashing the windscreen and side mirror. The mob attacked the driver, a middle-aged man, who was injured.

The accident occurred near Lafia Hospital, Mokola, Ibadan. The unidentified driver was said to have also injured pupils.

A witness said: “The traffic was light. Pupils were going home. Suddenly, the bus appeared and hit them, killing a secondary school girl. Passengers alighted, but the mob apprehended the driver. He was beaten up before the police rescued him.”

The police command spokesman Adekunle Ajisebutu said: “The driver is in our custody. He has been taken to Police Hospital, Eleyele, Ibadan. “The body of the pupil has been deposited at Alafia Hospital morgue. Investigation has begun.”

Unbelievable... Thss actually happen in my presence in Sabo, round about, around 2:30pm... The victims were two in number, but I think the young girl survived it. Gosh!

DID you read the story at all or you were smoking weed when doing so as it is you would have failed english in waec 7 times.

the news never talked about the students beating him it only said about the other students who were also there but the mob can comprise of both students and the witnesses or passerby who dealt with the man and not just the students alone.
