GNI formally joins ADC


The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 election in Ogun State, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, has formally announced his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).


He announced his defection at a Press conference in Abeokuta, the state capital to welcome his Believe Movement into the ADC.


He says the current political system is glaringly corrupted, broken as well as bereft of right values and subscription to good Democratic ideals.


GNI also insisted that the major political parties in the country have proven to be huge dissappointments and incapable of enhancing the socioeconomic welfare of Nigerian citizens.


He disclosed that he resigned his PDP membership due to the perennial and intractable crisis which he said has festered to an extent where the hope of reconciliation continued to dim inexorably.


Isiaka added that the party does not offer a veritable podium for him and his supporters to propagate the good ideals of the Believe Movement.


He says he had received inspiration from God and extensively consulted his family, political associates, friends, important stakeholders, well wishers as well as voices on the streets before joining the ADC.


The Governorship candidate said the ADC is a third force that is morally conscripted to offer Nigerians an escape route from the failed promises of the status quo and the Party that connects across Nigeria.


He added that most movements and people believe that they must depart from the worn out system of mediocrity, cronyism, and corruption which the All Progressives Congress, APC and PDP represents.


He says he and his supporters have aligned with a platform that's devoid of the entrenched retrogressive politics and which believes in the dignity of citizens and human capital development as the fundamental focus of its governmental imperatives.


He admitted that the party is not yet a finished product but they will continue to fine tune it's processes, saying he has conviction that they can use ADC platform to reinforce their believe.


Isiaka commended former President Olusegun Obasanjo for the role he played in the Coalition for Nigeria Movement, CNM adoption of ADC.


While receiving Isiaka to the party, the National Chairman of the ADC, Ralph Nwosu, said the ADC is the only party that can bring real change to the country.


He urged the party faithful to join hands with the party leadership to build a strong party that will be attractive to all.


Nwosu assured that the party will allocate 30 percent to women and 30 percent youths in all facets of its positions and appointments.


He also commended Obasanjo for making the party known nationally and continentally.
