The Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie and the Senator representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani, have clashed over the face-off between the executive and the legislature.

There is a feeling among the lawmakers that the Presidency is prosecuting the lawmakers which has heightened tension in the polity.

While the President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki was during the week summoned by the Nigerian Police over his alleged involvement in the deadly Offa robbery attack in Kwara State, the National Assembly held a joint session on Tuesday where issues of a posible impeachment of the President were on the front burner.

Senator Sani took to his twitter handle to say that, “Supporting the Executive to persecute the lawmakers is setting a dangerous precedent to democracy and nurturing the seed of absolute totalitarianism.”

And in a swift reaction, Onochie attacked the lawmaker, saying, “Turning the Nigerian Senate into a PLC that serves only the Senate cabal is a gross betrayal of the people of Nigeria who voted you to represent them.

Most of the APC senators from the north rode on the sai baba mantra to win election. Now their loyalty is lost in the winds. They have declared a phantom war against the presidency becuase some of them with questionable character are not given presidential pardon.

Next election, they will still include Buhari's picture in their election posters so as to curry votes.

It happened in Zambia
Same for Zimbabwe
Same for Kenya
Also in South Africa
They were less complex nations so impeachments and exiles sufficed.

Lets pray ours does not go beyond what worked for others being close to an election..
