After the Nations Cup in Angola , Nigerians started clamouring for a foreign coach to lead us to World Cup, one, that our players are tired legs, two, our performance in the Nation cup was woeful.
When you look at it, the new coach is still using Amodu's team to the Nations cup

The full list to represent Nigerian at the mundial:

Goalkeepers: Vincent Enyeama,, Dele Aiyenugba , Austin Ejide,

Defenders: Taye Taiwo,, Elderson Echiejile, Chidi Odiah,, Joseph Yobo,, Daniel Shittu, , Ayodele Adeleye, Rabiu Afolabi;

Midfielders: Kalu Uche, Dickson Etuhu, Mikel Obi, Sani Kaita, Haruna Lukman, Yusuf Ayila

Strikers: Yakubu Aiyegbeni,, Chinedu Obasi, Nwankwo Kanu, John Utaka, Obafemi Martins, Obinna Nsofor, Osaze Odemwingie.

If Yusuf Mohamed and Apam did not have injuries they would have made it to the world cup. It is only Utaka , Afolabi and Haruna Lukman that were not in the Nations Cup, Amodu was considering using Haruna, but because he has not tried him before he has to drop him.

When we look at Nigeria performance at the Nations cup, it will be total foolishness to say our performance was woeful, out of the five teams going to world cup in that Nations cup, only two made it to the semi final, Nigeria defeated the other team in 3rd place match to win bronze. The other team did not sack their coach.

My fear for Nigeria at the world cup, Nemesis may catch up with us for the injustice done to Amodu denying him of leading this team to world cup. We dashed out money to oyinbo man to take us to world cup, do not expect much from him, the law of Karma is at work already. The right thing to do after the Nations Cup is to beef up the technical team with other indigenous coaches like Siasia and Keshi and perhaps bring Kalika, but our wise men have their own agenda .

Amodu should take NFF to Fifa for the injustice meted out to him

supereagle the stuff pain me die, because i really wanted amodu to get fired specifically for playing many old players e.g kanu, utaka, aiyegbeni, yobo. to add salt to injury the idiot is getting paid 200,000 per month, for deceiving us. imagine nigeria losing 1-0 with osaze, obinna, martins and obasi on the field, then coach look to bench and brings in kanu, utaka or yakubu na laugh our opponents go laugh the players. john utaka and yakubu own pain me pass, infact just because of the way these 2 useless players have been playing, it would have been better just to take 4 goalkeepers and suswan. kanu fans do you know that kanu have gone for two world cups in his prime and in those 2 he was useless, then it is now that the guy is at least 45years old thats when he thinks he would make any difference

Everything about nigeria is recycling, do we need LARGER BEER to select these tired legs.

Forget all dis talk. A good coach can use this same "tired" legs to get results. Scolari made chelsea players all look like tired legs. Guus hidink turned same team around without buying a single player.

You people should please free Lagerback. Claudio Ranieri inherited a near relegation team from Luciano Spalleti and he transformed them to a team that challenged for the league and cup in Italy. Roma even went 25 games unbeaten. They took the title chase down the wire where they were runners up, only 2 points seperated them from Inter. They were also runners up in the Cup.
Was Amodu sacked because of the players he selected or because of what he could make out of these players? It is what you can make of the players you have that makes you a good or terrible gaffer.
Let Lagerback go to the worldcup and if the Super eagles dont perform, then he can be rightly criticised.

What are u on about? Nigerianss need to get those mentality of Amodu's team,Siasia's team from una head, there is nothing like that, they are all neigeria players. Lars took the BEST team he knows he can use to achieve result.

Capello is still using the same team Erikson and Mclaren used, Cameroun new coach is still using the old team to get result,Erikson is still using the old Ivory Coast team,i can go on on on. You guys should stop moaning and giv the guy a chance.

Remember they brought him to inject young legs into the team, but still using the same tired legs. When shall we stop wasting tax payers moni in naija?

Everton question Nigeria claim
Toffees insist Anichebe injury not serious
By Ben Collins Last updated: 1st June 2010

,
Injury Anichebe: confusion

, Everton have taken issue with Nigeria over the omission of Victor Anichebe from their World Cup squad through injury.

The Everton striker was one of the most notable omissions when Swedish boss Lars Lagerback named his final 23-man party, particularly after being their star man during last week's warm-up against Saudi Arabia.

Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, the chairman of the technical committee at the Nigerian Football Federation, reportedly told the Nigerian Tribune he was left out after suffering a cracked chin against the Saudis.

But Everton have issued a statement on their official website, clarifying that their 22-year-old frontman has, in fact, suffered a bruised shin and that the injury is not serious.

The Premier League club have been angered at what they see as misinformation while the youngster is devastated at not making it to South Africa.

Anichebe featured in the Nigerian side that reached the 2008 Olympic final, losing to Argentina, and he has so far made four appearances for the senior team.

Look around and tell me the kind of young/fresh legs we have that can hold their own in the world cup. We do not have the time to do all the experiment that could throw up some very fresh legs before the world cup. Check the team list of most countries in this torney and you will see that many coaches have chosen experience over youth.

na so thunder should fire you for that statement. rabiu ibrahim and okoro would have improved super eagles tremendously. i know it is fools like you that said haruna lukman is too young for world cup, but guess what he is our best midfilder now.
