Why Some Churches Will Never Grow by tuntech2000: 3:21pm On Jun 10, 2018
[b]There are several pastors who believed that the only way to grow a church or to attract people to their church is to strategically name their church to suit the solution their targeted audience and to organize a program that will generally provide solution to people’s problems. The motive of this is to have a large congregation and not to impact people.

Some believe the way to grow their church is to keep inviting people for their service and after the service ,they offer help and follow up in other to retain their members. Some even give a special recognition or awards to any church member who invites the highest number of people to church. Also, there are some who believed that the only way to attract member is to depict saintliness in their mode of dressing such that people can perceive that their church is holiness thoughtful. That is why some churches will never allow someone who does not cover her hair to enter their church while some will never allow wearing of shoe their church.

No wonder we see a lot of churches today with different kinds of names specifically created to address the problem of their targeted individuals. For instance, a man who believed that he is under one spiritual bondage or the other would prefer to attend a church named BREAKING THE BONDAGE OF LIFE MINISTRY or ENEMY MUST GIVE WAY EVANGELICAL CHURCH OF CHRIST. Also the theme of their programs will definitely address various challenges people are facing in the country.

I have come to tell you that all these will actually work out at the initial stage but will eventually fail at the end. They are all approaches implemented by men but are not sustainable. Our Lord Jesus Christ who is the head of the church has already given us the simplest way to grow and the church. I will only mention one of them. This method has been tested, proved and absolutely working. It is the strategy out Lord Jesus Christ used when he was on earth and also instructed His disciples to adopt before His Death, crucifixion and resurrection.

One of the ways to grow a church of Christ is by PREACHING THE GOSPEL AND MAKING DISCIPLES.

The Gospel means good news. Preaching the Gospel is the commission Jesus Christ gave to His followers. But the big question is “HOW“? How can we preach the Gospel especially today? Times and things may change, but the message remains the same. We are commanded by our Captain of Salvation to “go throughout the whole world and preach the gospel to all people” (Mark 16:15,).
Preaching the Gospel is the most IMPORTANT work on the face of the planet. Thus, it is fundamental that we, as Christians, know how we bring the Gospel of the Kingdom of God to everybody and every corner of the world. While this might be a difficult task, Jesus expects His people to do their best. As long as we do our part, God will give the increase of our labor (I Corinthians 3:6-7).

Our own part is to go into the world and preach the gospel, in the process of preaching, miracles, signs and wonders follow immediately because God will surely confirm His words.
