WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT UNIBEN DIPLOMA PROGRAM
The program is aimed for middle to top management position and it have adequate academic and professional content to boost manpower development, capacity building and manpower development. its designed to enhance performance in, Ship Building Technology, Shipping, Offshore Oil and Gas, Ports Development/Operations and ICT sectors of the economy.

[/b]COURSES OPEN FOR ADMISSION[/b]
The coouses open for admission is in two categories which are;

Two-years Full-Time diploma courses
One year professional advance certificate courses


The two years full-time diploma course consist of:

Maritime Studies, Information and Communication Technology
Marine Drilling and Production Technology
Industrial Welding and Fabrication Technology
Computing and Computer Technology.


The one year professional advance certificate course consist of:

Oil Field Development and Subsea Engineering.
Oil and Gas Instrumentation and control engineering
Oil and Gas Electrical Engineering and Naval Architecture
Maritime and Naval Architecture Engineering.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE TWO YEARS DIPLOMA PROGRAM

Credit in Mathematics, English Language, and any other three subject which can be from (Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing and Economics
A GCE/NECO/NABTEB/SSCE/WASC in not more than two sitting
City and Guild (part 1) in any area of Engineering
A qualification to any of the above
Student should note that they are to undertake a compulsory 3 months industrial training period between the first and second year of the program.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ONE YEAR PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

Bachelor of Engineering(B.Eng) Degree in any Engineering Programs
Bachelor of Science(B.Sc) in any Science courses (Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Computer Science, Mathematics or the Equivalent)
Higher National Diploma(HND) in any Engineering programs
Higher National Diploma in any Science Programs (Computer Science, Marine Engineering, Nautical studies/ICT PROGRAMS)
Diploma in Maritime Studies, Information and Communication Technology
Ordinary National Diploma(OND) in any Science Programs (Computer Science, Mathematics, Navigation and Nautical Studies, Maritime Studies/ICT Program)
Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in any Engineering Program.

Student having diploma from the centre of maritime studies, Information and communication technology are eligible for direct entry in University of Benin into the faculty of engineering, Faculty of Science (Computer Science, Mathematics (Pure and Applied), Industrial Mathematics, Mathematics with Physics, Mathematics with Chemistry, Statistics with Computer Science, Physics, Geology and Industrial Physics), Faculty of Education (Department of Vocational and Technical Education) and Library Studies and similar institutions in the country.
Graduate from the centre shall acquire academic and practical knowledge needed in the Shipping, Sea Ports,Custom Services,Oil, Agencies in Maritime and ICT Industries.
The programs will greatly enrich the Academic and practical knowledge of individuals with experience and those who lack previous experience but are seeking to get know-how and expertise in Maritime/Offshore Technology Operations.
