Please i need Gurus in the house to help me out with this question concerning clearing/vehicle custom papers. In a case whereby let’s say 1000 cars were shipped to Apapa, will each of the car’s chasis number be listed on a single customer paper (1000 chasis number) or it will be in bits because i’m aware of lesser numbers whereby the chasis number will be listed on a paper.

1000 cars would most probably come with an excise duty on them not customs duty. Also the car's are expected to have a serially arranged chasis number eg I am importing 1000 units of 2018 Acura TL with chasis number EU24000GH2350001 while the last unit in the line up will be EU24000GH2351000.

excise is a special kind of tax while custom duty too is a different tax entirely.

someone (am guessing a company) importing such amount of goods with such worth would get special treatment reason for an excise rather than customs document

Thank you very much for this, reason i asked is because a friend bought a toyota from a company, so the custom paper given was just a paper showing like 800 cars imported, payment proof, custom stamp and all. So we were wondering if it’s enough proof to show custom if stopped

vehicles bought brand new in nigeria don't come with custom document but a special excise document from the importer because those guys sometimes bring in bulk or a CKD and assemble it in nigeria.
