In a recent report by Scival in which forty-eight (48) Nigerian institutions and 500 leading authors in Business, Management and Accounting were captured, Covenant University is a clear leader.

In the institutional ranking, Covenant University with 234 publications, 335 authors and a citation impact factor of 0.58, has an overwhelming edge over forty-seven other leading universities in the research field captured in the report.


Obafemi Awolowo University is second with 100 publications and 112 authors, while University of Lagos with 83 publications and 79 authors, University of Nigeria Nsukka with 72 publications and 85 authors and University of Ibadan with 64 publications and 77 authors are in the third, fourth and fifth position respectively.



In the authors’ profile category, fourteen of the top twenty in a group of 500 leading authors in the research areas are Covenant University researchers. Professor C.K. Ayo with 24 publications, Professor Francis Iyoha with 16 and Dr. J.N. Taiwo with 14 publications are the leading authors in all of Nigeria. Dr. Adetiloye (11 publications) and Uchenna Efobi (11 publications) make the top five in Nigeria.
