Dear Mods, What Nigeria Owes Yoruba. by ImperialYoruba: 1:05am On Jun 18, 2018
Twice now since Yoruba was co-opted into Nigerian nation our Aare Ona Kakanfo has been assassinated. The Aare is the privilege of Alaafin as an Imperial title and office. Even though the Empire is no more, a symbolism in the office continues to be significant and relevant for political cohesion in the Yoruba Commonwealth.

During the coup of Jan.1966 an Aare was assassinated. During the transition from military to democracy another Aare (and a Bashorun) was also assassinated.

Nigerian government is yet to accept responsibility in the Jan. 66 coup and has never apologized to victims, survivors, or their families and never has admitted any wrongdoing.

In the death of Aare Abiola (a Bashorun) and fighter for democracy, the FG couple of days ago accepted responsibility in his death, admitted wrongdoing and offered apology to victims, survivors and their families.

The FG directly or indirectly suffered the Alaafin to loose his Aare (and Bashorun) in an act independent of a fight for Yoruba Commonwealth.

In diplomatic parlance this is what we call "collateral damage".

Imagine US bombing ISIS locations and drop a bomb killing occupants in the Chinese Embassy in Aleppo. Yes, collateral damage. Very costly!
It hurts diplomatic relations and incurs reparations for physical damage and lost lives.

Federal Government of Nigeria don buy market!

Alaafin has legal privileges to demand and obtain on behalf of the Commonwealth a reparation for the collateral damage in the wrongful assassination of our Aare.

It does not necessarily have to be monetized but a judgement and acceptance serves enough as process and protocol would allow to establish the precedence and concessions to the benefit of Yoruba Commonwealth.

Do you mods have any objection whatsoever to the validity of my proposal?

I will wait for your response...
