I must thank all contributors I am highly grateful. The owner told me is 2012 car. I doubted her and she presented the car papers....I was not satisfy so I decided to come here. I will sure get to the root cos is quite embarrassing for one to be parading a 2001 car and claims is 2012

Thats the picture of the car in question . My nebor owns the car. Recently i discovered that it was just park and I asked what's the problem......she told me the brain box has issue and also the balloon issue too. I asked how much to fix it and she said 1million naira. That was what prompted me to ask her for the car details......in the document presented I saw 2012/2013 .meanwhile she told me she is prepared to sell it for 3million to any interested person. .,,.she claimed she bought it over 10million naira. Lots of people have been pricing it 2million ....how do I go about telling them is 2001 car? I only hope she had other document to justify her claim

This definitely not a 2001 model year, well the airmatic suspension on these car fails a lot and quite expensive too about 1500 dollar, and as for the brain box(ECU) the car might not run or run properly after changing it since these German cars usually have what they call rolling code encoded uniquely and specifically for that car, you might not change that alone, the car might need to let change and some bunch of other things and probably program the ECU to accept the car

It's a 2006 car definitely. she probably bought it in 2012. Maybe as a first owner 'she thinks '

Released and delivered on the circled dates.

As has been mentioned, this isn't regular North American, this was manufactured in Germany, for Europe or Asia, so it doesn't really follow the US VIN style.

That not accurate then. This particular car is from Europe and the 2005 European S350 was the W220 with the rear fascia below:

The w220 as shown above ran from 1999 - 2005 in Europe, replaced with the s350 w221 from 2006 - 2013.
