ooking at the fast pace of work that's ongoing at the Lagos-Ibadan Railway project, one will be forced to ask if this is Nigeria? It will be recalled that in April, the minister of transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amechi promised that the project will be ready before Dec. 2018, not many people took him seriously as we thought talk is cheap and that's how people in government talk. Pictures from the site, however, seems to be proving us wrong as CCeCC are moving at a very fast pace, one wonder if the Lagos Railway is this fast then the issue of traffic would have subsidized in Lagos.

These are some pictures from the Lagos-Ibadan Railway project exclusively gotten by AutoReportNG

Anyway I am not surprised Buhari cancelled the Lagos Metrorail in the 80's yet paid the full costs despite cancellation.

Despite the fact that I'm no fan of Rotimi Amaechi, he is the only minister that's actually working hard in this administration. He actually wishes Buhari has something to point as achievement by 2019, but sorry for him, his boss doesn't have administrative success in his DNA.

The condition of the project makes it faster.China isndirectlt financing the project, so it does not required the Nigeria Senate approval or this approval of finances.
The NASS were unable to cut the cost of the project for their selfish interest.

Inspired by Jonathan's minister of work's achievement, Amaechi knows some people will surely laugh at him if he has nothing to show at the end of the day. Kudos anyways!

Hmmm... Though I'm not sure about that. How are you sure it's not a light rail project? Did they anywhere say it's a locomotive train? Just curious.

I think the locomotive is just for testing... In railway constructions, the contractors use their own trains mostly locomotive to test the effectiveness of the track, this is because locomotive trains are heavy and so they need it to test the impact of the soil, the track and also the rails.

I hope this helps a bit.

How does this help atone for the metro rail cancelled by Buhari despite still paying the full amount? He deserves knocks. Not kudo

There's a large number of locomotives in operation all over the world even in the USA carrying million's of tons of goods and passengers. That's why foods can be delivered cheaper and safer than road trucks. Regular operation will definitely help to reduce cost of doing business across the country.

More pictures of the project,
T-beams on course, Fabrication yard on the grind,
guess this is a perfect opportunity for the new abeokuta city centre project, Industrial clusters, mega churches etc to link up the rail,as was envisioned by amosun abinitio,

Good a thing, the Lagos corridor is the major economic epicenter of the sub region, hence logistics for fastidious evacuation of goods will be strengthened, more to this , is the curtailment of loss, while ease on the pressure mounted on the decayed road infrastructure is anticipated at it's completion.

Linking our neighbors in the western corridor gonna be the icing on the cake, via economic integration.

Good a thing the project's speed is apace, the rail masterplan for sure guarantees it's linkage to crisscross the fragments of our territorial configuration,

Consistency, continuity is key, equity and justice demands non politicization of critical infrastructure,
On the flipside,
Ladies and gents, seems NASS have become a cog in the wheels of the progress of this country,
They now accustomed to mischievous perpetuation of depropriating budgetary allocations of counterpart infra-funds.

This further gives a chain reaction of poor implementation and elongates the lifespan of project execution.

Isn't it discombobulating and ridiculous.
These guys need to call it a quit for the sake of development, growth and prosperity.

How are you so pained about the botched Metroline and taking tramadol for someone's trouble?

As far as you are concerned, nothing can atone for anything. Attempting to convince you is like reading news to the deaf.
