Remember the controversy that trailed the refusal of entry to Firdaus Amasa, a Muslim graduate of the Nigerian Law School over her refusal to remove her hijab for the Call to Bar ceremony?

Well, the Body of Benchers met today and reports reaching us indicate that it is now ready to allow ladies wear the hijab to call to bar ceremonies and Firdaus Amasa will go down in history as the pioneer in this regard.

Reports from Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) and a tweet from her colleague, Abimbola Amusan in which he wrote:

Today history is made.Y’all remember the”Hijab Lady”right? The one dt wore hijab to her Call to Bar in 2017&wasn’t called becos of that. Today(sic) the body of benchers approved the use of hijab for call to bar.She dared to challenge the status quo.We work in the same firm.

Have confirmed this news.
