Gernot Rohr has made three changes to the starting line-up for Super Eagles next game in the World Cup against Iceland on Friday.

The German has decided to drop three players from the squad that lost 2-0 to Croatia on Saturday, Owngoal is reporting.

The coach did not, however, make wholesome changes and has kept the core of the team once again on Friday.

The trio of Kelechi Iheanacho, Tyronne Ebuehi and Ahmed Musa have returned to the starting lineup for Friday while Odion Ighalo, Shehu Abdullahi and Alex Iwobi have been dropped.

The need to inject pace and urgency in the attack of the Eagles is largely the reason why Musa will start in attack with Victor Moses moving to the left flank.

This means that Iheanacho will take the spot of Odion Ighalo in the starting line-up.

Super Eagles starting X1: Uzoho, Balogun, Ekong, Ebuehi, Idowu, Ndidi, Etebo, Mikel, Musa, Ihenacho, Moses.

Iwobi does not work hard for the team

Football is not only about what you do with the ball, it is also about what you do without the ball

Did you watch Iwobi at Arsenal this season. At best he should be a squad player for Nigeria

Did you watch Etebo at Las Palmas this season?

Ndidi should be dropped for Iwobi. why should he play two slow players in the midfield? Iwobi is good at 10,he showed that against England so he should be given a shot at central midfield cuz he is one of our best players. Up till now Rohr is still expermenting when he should have known his player's capabilities.Always messing up with his formations.

This Rohr no dey hear word. It thought he has gotten everything right until I saw that he dropped the most offensive forward Iwobi.
Iwobi should be right behind the 2 strikers. Mikel should be sacrificed and benched while Etebo remains in the DM position where he did superbly well shutting down modric and rakitic against Croatia.

Iwobi can take rebound shots even in front of 2 defenders and still get it on target. Why should he be on the bench.

Anyway I always knew Rohr have no ideas. He is just experimenting by trial and error. Nigeria will lose against Iceland if care is not taken.

Sensible coaches will play a 3 man defense only when 2 workaholics like Etebo and Ndidi are shielding the 3 man defense. Mikel will lose balls, refuse to tackle and ultimately expose the defense to unwarranted, unnecessary and avoidable attacks.

We don't even need sluggish players today.
If you had watched most previous matches,you could observe strength is needed alot.

We need to rush these people just like the Russians and how corotia russhed messi.

Don't even give any player chance to do any skills.

Also, let them not use up ball most times because all Iceland players are very tall.

We just need to be very fast just like Musa. We don't need mikel in this match,he should be benched. He doesn't mark after loosing the ball thus putting the defenders at high risk.

3 things needed are:

1: strength
2: accurate passes
3: positioning.

With these 3, it's a win for Nigeria

4-3-3 don solve this Problem.
Normal back 4, midfield: Mikel,Etebo,Ndidi

Attack: Musa, Iheanaho, Moses, if possible, Musa&Moses can switch positions in the course of the Game.

Mikel advances to supply the much needed passes.

Once in a while Wing-Backs can also join in Attacks (overlap)

Subs: Iwobi, Ighalo, & 1 DF Midfielder.
Iwobi can come in for Mikel with a fresh strength &pace when the ICE guys are already exhausted.

And if he loses as expected for making such obvious blunders, he will get the sack. The Argentina friendly was the most ideal template to our set up but our coach is obviously confused, still experimenting at the world cup

Thats what is baffling,our friendly against Arg was the best lineup and style of play, especially 2nd half. No moses, no ighalo and they scored 4 times.

How comes the names of the Iceland players must end with 'son' ayamnot understanding...
