If you were President of Nigeria, the country will burn down within 48hrs. Everything you posited is rubbish.

I highly disagree. His proposal makes a lot of sense and will cut a lottttttttttt of waste. Nigeria simply cannot continue as it is with Buhari budgeting 86 million Naira just to cut his head, sorry hair

You restructure and it will also affect lives, the sars officer from the north will police the north and kill his people if he likes, not coming to another zone and doing what you like. You restructure education, the east can focus on vehicle automation only and the west can decide science and tech etc. They take power to the people ,devolution of powers .The local government becomes competitive when the the center is no longer attractive.

Good. Buhari is showing his true colors. Pathetic hypocrite.
Well, anybody hoping on restructuring is just deceiving himself. Secession from the shiit hole is the ULTIMATELY SOLUTION!

Did the word *Restructuring* just appear in our dictionary in Nigeria?

So the confused PDP for their 16 years new restructuring is the way forward and fail to do it.

Pmb pls do ur best and leave rest.

Mad man, the north keep reaping where they didn't sow, still there's no improvement in their lives over there. They are the one afraid of restructuring because they know how much they will be affected.

Ebullience:
PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari on Monday observed that those clamouring for the restructuring of the country do so for selfish motives but expressed the hope that the diverse agenda can be accommodated by the constitution.

He made the observation while receiving some traditional rulers under Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU) and members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from Urhobo land at the presidential villa, Abuja on Monday.

He was responding to the call by the group to consider the call for restructuring.

The president said: “You mentioned something which is typical these days, the cause of restructuring Nigeria. For every group asking for restructuring has got their own agenda and I hope it can be accommodated by the constitution.

“I assure you that you are not forgotten and I am pleased you appreciate the appointments by this administration of some citizens of your kingdoms.

Responding to a request for the presidency to also address oil spillage in the region, Buhari blamed the people of the area for what he said was their contribution to the degradation of the region through sabotage.

He, therefore, urged them to give the present administration the chance just as, according to him, gave the previous governments the chance.

Buhari said: “I plead with you leaders of these communities that your resources have been sustaining this country throughout these years for restraint of control so that the cooperation you gave to the previous administrations will be extended to this administration so that the country can realize the resources which are mainly under your seat.

“Some of your citizens there are responsible and they hurt, more of your people that have access to employment, either lack of education, you know as much as I do that it is the people that suffer from oil pollution, like those engaged in fishing.

“If the water is polluted, it is the majority of the people that will suffer.

“Those making noise in the media because they somehow have access and because they are outside the country, but those of us who are stuck here we are left to convince the people to show respect.”

The President General of UPU had also observed that part of the things that will guarantee a second tenure for Buhari is to appoint an Urhobo son or daughter as substantive Minister in the current administration.

Taiga requested the president to look into issues bedevilling the region, especially the resuscitation of Sapele port, boundary crisis between the Urhobos and Edo communities, federal presence like the establishment of gas plants, adequate funding of Federal University of Petroleum Resources and neglect by oil companies who daily exploit the land without commensurate compensation.

He said: “We wish to commend the initiative by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to give serious thought to restructuring our country and going as far as setting up a committee under a serving governor to take a critical look at it and make recommendations on the way forward.

“We humbly request Mr. President to give kind consideration to appointing an Urhobo son or daughter as a Minister in this administration. We will be grateful if this request is kindly granted.

“The Sapele port which was once a bustling economic hub in the old Midwestern region has unfortunately gone comatose for a long time. It is presently used as a naval facility with only a small part of it serving the Navy’s needs.

“We, therefore, request the federal government to reactivate and make the port functional. This will help to decongest the Lagos ports and boost the economy of Delta and neighbouring states.”

Meanwhile, security operatives in presidential villa prevented Delta APC leader, Olorogun Ortega Emerhor who organized the Urhobo delegation’s visit to the president, from entering the venue.

His prevention from attending the meeting with the president may not be unconnected with the violence that broke out during the APC national convention at Eagle Square, Abuja on Saturday.

His loyalists and other Delta delegates loyal to the camp of Chief Great Ogboru and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege disrupted the president’s address when they engaged in a free for all fight.

His proposal will cause problems and conflict. Instead of agreeing to restructure with the present regions still intact, his idea is to grab more territories from the south south to the South East in the name of some so-called igboid group. That alone will spark a conflict. The guy has the typical Ipob mentality, which will definite cause chaos.

1. Recognise the six geopolitical zones as federating units and order INEC to conduct elections to elect their governors. I will name the SE zone as Biafra state, SW as Odu'a state, SS as Niger Delta state, NC as Middle Belt state, NW as Arewa state, NE as Kanuri state.

2. The current 36 states will become metropolitan areas and the current 36 governors will become Mayors. I will scrap entirely the current 774 LGA arrangment. The current LGA chairmen will go to the new six state assemblies as legislators. The councilors will be dissmissed.

3. [s] Return Ilorin and Kabba to Odu'a state. Asaba, and other Igboid part of SS will be conceeded to Biafra (to quell unnessesary agitation). Ijaw part of Ondo will return to Niger Delta state. The fulani part of Kwara and Niger goes to Arewa state. The Christian part of Taraba goes to Middle Belt state. [/s]

4. Oil found in any land within Nigeria will belong 50% to the host community/metro. The offshore oil belongs to us all! Therefore the current sharing formula will continue. The 36 Metros will still get what they are currently getting from offshore oil, while the new six states will now get what the LGA where getting before. So a state will get only the amount that would have accrued to the LGA it had before.

5. Some NPF police officers will be transfered to state service as state police. Same will be with some prison wardens. Many of items on exclusive list (such as energy and power generation) will be moved to concurrent list to allow states participate. Only defence, foreign affairs and currency operations will be exclusive. Because of this, the oil revenue share retained by the FG will decrease to give more to the 6 states and 36 metros.

6. Increase the number of senators to 115. The extra 6 will be one first class king from each of the 6 states. Such as the sultan, ooni, obi, oba of benin etc. The new 6 states will have houses of chiefs to be made up of the remaining top monarchs in the zone. Any monarch not included will be considered irrelevant and derobed.

By this, agitations will reduce grossly to give government at each level chance to do its job. Also the unaccounted waste by the current 774 LGAs will stop. The FG by this arrangement sheds power, but not enough to make it irrelevant. By this also Biafra would have been given to my people, Niger Delta would have been given to SS and Odu'a would have been given to SW.

THE NIGERIAN POLITICAL CLASS SHOULD ALSO LEARN TO RESTRUCTURE THEIR MINDSET.

It is one thing to restructure Nigeria and it is another thing for the political class to restructure their mindset towards making Nigeria to develop as it is in the industrialized countries.

Corruption has always been the bane of the average politicians in Nigeria.

They see public funds as free money for them to spend here and there for themselves and their cronies.
