NEVILLE AND DIXON BLAST PICKFORD’S ‘STRANGE’ GOALKEEPING
Jordan Pickford’s goalkeeping against Belgium has been criticised by Gary Neville and Lee Dixon.

Pickford was one of few players to retain their England place as Gareth Southgate’s men were beaten by Belgium in the final game of Group G at the World Cup.

The Everton keeper was given a gentle ribbing in our player ratings but was not similarly spared by the pundits after conceding from Adnan Januzaj’s fine effort.

Neville was particularly scathing of his “strange” goalkeeping, with Danny Rose not escaping his wrath.

ERIC DIER DISAPPOINTED BY ENGLAND’S WORLD CUP DEFEAT TO BELGIUM
Eric Dier says England will not allow the disappointment of their defeat to Belgium to detract from their progress to the last 16 of the World Cup.

After kicking off the campaign with back-to-back wins over Tunisia and Panama, the Three Lions stumbled to a 1-0 loss in Kaliningrad on Thursday night.

With qualification assured, both sides made sweeping changes to their previous starting teams. It was Belgium who maintained their perfect record, taking the points when former Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj scored brilliantly in the second half.

SENEGAL RECEIVES NO SYMPATHY AFTER BIZARRE FAIR PLAY WORLD CUP ELIMINATION
Former referee Keith Hackett has said Senegal only have themselves to blame for their bizarre World Cup elimination.

The African nation’s 1-0 defeat to Colombia saw them depart the competition at the group stage after accruing more booking points than Japan.

Both Senegal and Japan ended tied on points, goal difference, goals scored and head-to-head, leaving it to FIFA’s Fair Play table to decide who advanced.
