A keen observer of Kaduna state politics will not be surprised by today's dumping of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) by Chief of State to Senate President Hakeem Baba-Ahmad.

He is one of the founding members of Alkida faction of the party in Kaduna state.

Alkida group of APC in Kaduna state is at logger heads with the Governor, Nasir El-rufai also of the APC over the Governor's style in running the state .

Trouble started in the party when the group started criticizing the state Governor for his plan demolition of some building in the state in order to allow infrastructural development. The group argued that demolition of buildings was not part of the campaign promises made by the party during the build up to the 2015 general election.

Hakeem was a great asset to APC both in Kaduna and the country at large. He was among those that supervised the INEC-APC collusion in the 2015 elections.
