Super Eagles coach, Rohr shortlisted for Algeria job


Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, is one of the five shortlisted candidates to take over as Algeria national team coach, according to Le Buteur.

Rohr makes the list along with Christian Gourcuff, Vahid Halilhodzic, Morocco coach, Herve Renard and Iran boss, Carlos Queiroz.

The Desert Foxes are looking for a new man in charge, after they failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Earlier this year, Rohr signed a new two-year contract that would see him remain in charge of the Nigerian team until 2020.

Speaking after exiting the World Cup at the group stages, the German insisted that he wants to continue with the former African champions.

If he see better work make he go ooo, is it going to stay with this NFF that is not organised, Chris Giwa that FIFA has suspended for 5 years is been supported by the Sport Minister to take over the federation, if he eventually take over who is he going to work with.
this kind of thing make the country look like a joke.

Rohr is a good coach, Nigeria should still retain him, but he needs to do some internship with the likes of Mourinho and Guardiola.

I would rather prefer them to enlist Buhari for the position of President in their country

super eagles will regret lossing this coach , he did a good job in world cup, the first match would have been draw , the first match was misfortune, the two goals were error, and that of Argentina, he did quite well, he cannot come and be ighalo shoot in the net or he turn himself to iheanacho , he used most experienced available material players we have abroad , sad we do not have enough quality to compete with even Africa, but we have upcoming talented young ones who can turn up the table in Future ..

They should leave this man. He hasn't done anything wrong. We no be Chelsea Na.

He should continue his building process. He's doing a good job overall.

Hmm Rohr, ayam not convince with your performance on the larger stage. But.....

did well in building the team over the qualification stage but failed to deliver at the big stage...

we saw
1. poor player selections
2. poor technical decisions

this is crucial as it cost us alot..
but looking at the long term and the crop of young players
we may need continuity jus like Uruguay
hope they won't put politics into it... up naija

For the benefit of continuity Rohr has to stay. We will be better for it.

I saw one of our 2018 WC qualifying games against Algeria yesterday; the one we played a draw in Algiers.
