It has become really necessary at this point to align peoples thought on the need to define their passion and career and be able to create a distinction between the two. Often times people have succeeded in confusing passion for career. This has contributed to the aggregate low mindset of young people.

Your career is just what you want to do for a living. In other words, it is what you can do for money. On the other hand, your passion is your talent. You may not crave to earn money from your passion because it is what you love doing. passion is often unlearned, it is just part of who you are.

First off, a fixed mindset on your passion could lead to a passive approach to your career, and life in general. “Telling people to find their passion could suggest that it’s within you just waiting to be revealed,” yes that is what passion is but how about your career. You just need to get commitment and diligence. You may need to learn it, if necessary. For instance, no one is born a programmer, all programmers had to put themselves through the learning process.

The solution? The psychologists recommend you stop trying to find your passion, and develop your career instead. If something doesn’t click right away, that’s OK -- give it time.
