Most offenders re-offend. Nothing klepto about it.

Kleptomaniacs don't go around with a bunch of one hundred keys or master keys. It is also extremely rare, though still relatively more common in women.

With an impulse control disorder (ICD) like kleptomania, people steal things they do not need for own use and cannot make money from. Things that ordinarily make no sense to steal.

If you burgle houses, steal valuable items you concert to your own use or sell on for money, you're a regular thief and burglar.

Whereas ICD, being likely in OCD spectrum can be treated, albeit with some difficulty and varying degrees of success, if biopsychosocial model is used.
