Gramophone and its disc. I have a relative that used this gramophone till mid 90s. One thing I like about that disc is, it doesn't spoil easily, audio cassette player made this gramophone/turn-table fizzled out. 1 Like |

galadima77:That is the way life is, nothing last forever. From Gramophone/turntable to audio cassette player/Walkman to CD Player to MP3 Player and now our phones is used in playing songs. I am sure in the next few years another (gadget) tech innovation will chase out android and IOS. 3 Likes |

Those were the days when you never see fake products in the market. Everything was just original and authentic. When made in japan or USA ruled supreme. The days of kenwood, sony, jvc, motorola, ericson etc who even knows of freaking techno or itel back then? 2 Likes |

Elano25:Are you for real? you want to sell an inheritance your daddy bequeathed to you? in the nearest future that piece of art will be termed vintage and priceless. Your own children and children children will be proud of you for preserving such a legacy. I have a wall clock from the 70's that my dad left for me and my children won't take their eyes off it 'cos of the beauty. 1 Like |

Mscheew. If you want I can get recent album releases on vinyl. Young white people [Indomie generation] have refused to let the technology die so it's not really old school anymore. It's only an inefficient way to enjoy music. OP's style of writing makes him sound ancient, the band's name is New Edition not The New Edition. Let me keep enjoying digital quality sound from my iPod, jare. My father is one to quickly dispose of old technology and jump on new trends. The only device he found hard to let go of was a wooden black and white TV he purchased in his early twenties. All our TV screens were flatscreen CRTs at the time but he held on to this hopeless looking relic and imposed it on we the male children. I came up with the idea of destroying the TV one day -- nothing should last forever. My plan worked and he quickly got over the loss. |

ugotuf:Not in Nigeria. Here we don't value vintage property, that's more of the white man's culture. The funny thing is their technology becomes so advanced later on they can build the same machine for little or nothing but they always prefer having the old decrepit piece. I know many Nigerians who have vintage Rolls Royces and Jaguars from the 1930s and 1940s collecting dust and becoming scrap in their houses. Nobody cares if it's not a 2018 Benz. |
