A Fast Moving Consumer manufacturer is seeking fresh graduates (Males Only) who are interested in participating in a 6 months Bread/Snacks making course. Candidates must be ND/Degree holders who are interested in developing a skill in the rather large Food and beverages sector. The objective of the programme is to transfer sound food processing skills to the selected interns.

At the end of Six months the candidates will be able to understand the dynamics of the food industry as it relates to ingredient technology, baking/frying/grilling, Costing, Sales and marketing.

We would prefer graduates from food Science and Technology, Industrial chemistry, Microbiology or any other related discipline. Graduates from other non-Science disciplines who can convince the examining panel that they are very passionate about developing a career in this industry may also be considered.

Accommodation will be provided for all participants and a monthly allowance of 10,000 will be paid. Candidates applying from outside Lagos may be given prior consideration.

At the end of this training, a certificate of completion will be issued to successful participants.
Our company will absorb the very best of the candidate(s) while strongly recommending the rest to major players in the industry.

Only 6 males will be considered for this maiden edition.

Commencement is scheduled for Monday September 3, 2018.

It isn't unfair at all. A number of reasons predicated our stance to deal with men only at this point.

The accommodation we have is dormitory type and will only accommodate same sex.

Secondly, we are yet to be convinced that women/ladies have the strength required for baking.

We are preparing young people to start-up their own bakeries and trust me you need physical strength in lieu of modern equipment.

We will however look at the possibility of an all female training in the near future.

Of all the listed Reasons, I beg to disagree with the second saying "women" do not have the stamina to bake?

An insult to female folks. Just rather say you do not want females on your team.

I must however say that from our experience women cannot fit into the industrial baking scenario especially in a really large set-up.
At best they are Quality control personnel, Production Accounting and audit/controls and a few other areas. In dealing with the real core of production they are found wanting. most times you can only place them in raw materials measurement and finishing(packaging), A visit to any large bakery will authenticate this position.

Places like large department store bakeries only have the female folk dealing with the customer or more delicate aspects of the production process like cakes and sugarcraft.

Once again, no offense meant but the truth must be said as it is.
