Treasuredlove: But then, if those rival companies never gave others a chance, would there be an opportunity for Cadbury or whatever firm to poach from a rival company? The answer is no. Sometimes it is not experience that matters but enthusiasm towards learning the job. Everybody is looking for experienced staff, which one did they train? |

Chivita is worst because I know a contract staff, he's paid #1000 for each day's work in their factory in Ajao Estate, and sometimes he may be sent home, they advertise in TV at a time rigorously with Kosoko for people that can remember, they don't sponsor programs and help upcoming events but are partners with my club Manutd, no community service programs and the road to their company is very bad. 10 Likes |

Blingchinny:Like wonder you people can't get jobs. Cadbury is a subsect of Mondelez. Several times, Mondelez have announced job openings for several roles in Nigeria and even did less than two weeks ago. Most multinational firms have parent companies and the names quite differ from the local name you know them to be in your country. 7Up is not an independent company but a brand of a particular company(PepsiCo). For Viju, well, I wouldn't advise you to think of applying let alone work for them. Viju is owned by some Chinese individuals and the job conditions are better defined as slavery. Friesland recruit from time to time and they do it on their Global site. You might have been looking and stalking the wrong website ever since. Cadbury is a local name. It's like wanting to see Nittol recruit whereas Henkel has been making calls for applications for several roles. It's nobody's fault you are ignorant of this. PS: As a job seeker, you owe it to yourself to make proper findings, particularly for multinational coys as they tend to have parent companies. It is not a crime to search. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

[quote author=Blingchinny post=69276801]If you are JOBLESS and you still patronize products made by companies who doesn't do PUBLIC RECRUITMENTS or companies who wouldn't give you an opportunity to INTERN (Paid/Volunteer), then you are a FOOL.... use your brain! As for me and all my classmates, we have decided not to patronize any food companies that does the above. 7up, Cadbury, Viju, Friesland.....you will never see them advertise any vacancy, yet they have placements for their relatives and friends. If I see their retailers around my mom's shop, I chase them away like goats![ /quote] My dear, you are very right. They employ children of the rich, politicians, kings, meanwhile, these sets of people do not patronize them. Yes, i will join you to do protest in forums. Nestle, cadbury and many of them, know them, who is a fool? Their image will be tarnished by the time we come out to tell people not to buy their products. Henceforth, i will tell my children friends and family to stop after all this products are not health friendly. 1 Like |

The op is making lot of sense but will his fellow young unemployed graduates agree with him NO! And you know why Because they are the dull ones being recruited from the back door making the op to cry, what a sad nation we live in During my job-hunting days, I got NNPC job, I was cheated; my name was swapped even after I passed glaringly and got congratulated by the interviewers, etc....I got NLNG got screened out for age reasons....I got Mantrac and again after telling me to come meet with my prospect department Mgr, I didn't hear from them again; I later learnt they took someone else who didn't pass....what about Glo, where do I start where do I end Nigeria is a messed up nation, thanks to Abokis who ruled us for years with cow constitution and laws making it possible for Nigeria Nigeria's foundation to be completely messed Op, while you submit CV, don't neglect entrepreneurship...I know it isn't easy, but if we can finally find a way, then you too can...and I pray God Almighty make a way for people like you trying their best to make it in life, its sad mhen 6 Likes |

Blingchinny:Hypocritical fool, you and those mumu National Association of Unemployed Graduates are the same, you and your classmates will betray yourselves in no time. Companies that serve over 50 million customers, what volume do you consume as an individual? Your abstinence will not be felt. Better change your mentality and work towards making yourself employable because as you currently are, no one will employ you except those companies that pay graduate N26k monthly. |

Only the youths can push for change in Nigeria, and with social media and internet forums like this, Nigerian youths can correct so many anomalies in Nigeria of today, its really disheartening because I can feel the op's frustration haven been there back then 1 Like |

I'm afraid you are channelling your energy in the wrong direction. There are too many people seeking extremely few jobs. Question your government. Question the people you voted to lead you. Although at the end of the day you have the right to boycott any product you wish, I don't think this is the solution. 1 Like |

nams77:LinkedIn works too well...infact, it is where you can connect with professional people more. Most people around me use LinkedIn, personally i just have a profile and I have not really explored it yet. I actuallt got an invitation to send my CV for possible interview but didn't follow through. I know 3 people who got way good jobs on linkedin may-june this year and about 2 people who got contacted by third party HRs by just viewing their profile without even applying...it works, it really does. The key is to sell yourself on linkedin, connect to the right people and be very professional. |
