What procedure do they have? None. They are into who is who employment. They will tell you they have the best practice procedure but it is a lie. You can imagine an international A class oil company few years ago employed a third class boy who struggled to get the third class just because his uncle works there. On Monday, I got a mail 4rm P&G that d position I applied 4 has been filled up. What made dis funny is d fact that I did online test then I got called 4 a test in dier premises wch I got a mail that I ACED and I shld b on d look out 4 d next stage. A month after, I sent a mail as a form of reminder that was wen I was told the position has already been filled up and i may keep chking dier site 4 oda vacancies.

On Thursday again I got a regret mail 4rm on of the Big 4s after I made it tru to d final interview stage going tru all d test stages to d interview stage. I rmba one of the guys we went 4. D interview 2gda told me later dat interview nite he ova heard one of dier staffs asking the HR person dat escorted him out if his/her own candidate has been interviewed.

Even the so called ones that advertise dre's are reserved 4 dier families

Still job hunting tho buh I kinda lost interest somehow

Lool...it is not as bad as you make it sound. These companies are not sole proprietorship, they use third parties and sometimes even contact you directly without even applying for the job. At other times a vacancy might be a available and they may ask insiders who have worked for rival companies like theirs if they know someone in their former office that can fill the role...this helps them monitor and understand competitors.
I would like to ask: are you on linkedin? What is your proffesional profile like? What is your online presence and rep like? Work on your professional profile online and I am sure you will get singled out

If you are an upcoming professional without relevant work experience..... You will end up being just a spectator!

interns do get noticed too. There are entry level jobs there too. Just make use of it well with an open mind and I guarantee you a good story at the end of the day. Job hunting isn't easy, it isn't easy at all...sometimes after an interview back then, I will cry myself home. You just need to keep trying....ignore the negatives, keep trying

LinkedIn works too well...infact, it is where you can connect with professional people more. Most people around me use LinkedIn, personally i just have a profile and I have not really explored it yet. I actuallt got an invitation to send my CV for possible interview but didn't follow through. I know 3 people who got way good jobs on linkedin may-june this year and about 2 people who got contacted by third party HRs by just viewing their profile without even applying...it works, it really does. The key is to sell yourself on linkedin, connect to the right people and be very professional.
