Some reaction has come out of the camp of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) regarding the exemption certificate attributed to Kemi Adeosun, the Minister of Finance.

An insider has revealed to News sources that the agency has started investigations into the matter and erring officers found culpable will be sanctioned appropriately by the agency when the truth is revealed.

“ Although we are still searching the systems and inviting various people to explain what must have happened but we are worried and confused ” the source said.

The source also revealed that the agency will reveal its official position on the matter after its investigations must have been completed. He continued…

“ Bomoi (a late former DG of NYSC) left in 2009 January, how come his signature is showing in a September 2009 certificate, which is not supposed to be. It is totally illegal and that alone shows that something is wrong somewhere.”

He expressed worries as to how the minister may have gotten hold of the certificate purportedly in her possession because according to him, the NYSC does not issue those types of certificates.

“Only Kemi Adeosun can say where she got ‘Oluwole’ certificate” , he says.

“ What is worrisome is how the certificate must have gotten to her. She alone can tell how she got the certificate. We are really praying and hoping she talks but definitely many people will go down if she talks”

He also wondered why an exemption letter would be granted to someone who graduated at a very young age; well below the exemption age of thirty.

“She should have been told to go and serve!”
The NYSC is currently under pressure from the court of public opinion to confirm if the Minister of finance served or not.

The NYSC boss, Maharazu Tsiga is however yet to comment on the issue.
