I had this same argument with anoda and he quoted this verse for me too. Trully in your heart sir, please dont quote the bible, do you believe that Africans or Amazonians heard the gospel before the missionaries got to them? I believe just like noah thought the whole world was flooded (the world he knew), i believe this quote was uttered with similar naiveté.

The Just shall live by FAITH

TRUE faith is to believe in ALL the word of God, whilst rejecting our own human THOUGHTS which is always in contrast to the word of God . As it is written in Matthew 18:3, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven."
FALSE and mere religious faith is to believe in Jesus according to our personal human thoughts and ideologies, whilst ignoring/ disregarding the very written word of God. Christians who are not truly bornagain of water and spirit merely believe in Jesus according to the vain philosophy of men, disregarding the written word of God and ultimately end up losing their faith when caught in the snares of the devil.

1Co 1:21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached, to save those who believe.
1Co 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1Co 3:18 Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.
