Everybody in Naija claims to be bornagain. Why do people lie about such a thing?

Why they lie? Because to lie is the easiest thing in the world and sometimes can be very useful, especially in nigeria where everyone wants to feel among. Dem go born again and again, sef. Who wants to be a social reject?

Everybody claims to be born again and we are the most corrupt, evil, demonic satanic people in the face of the earth.

1.When someone said he/she is bornagain, what do you understand by that?
2.Why do you think people lie when when they say they are born-again?

To find out if someone is truly born again
All you have to do is seek the fruit of the spirit in the person.

Gal:5:22-23
But the holy spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness,Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self Control. The is no law against these things.

Get to know them and see how they evolve
Relate these to his/her Relationships, Altitude, the way he/she speaks, ETC
You can't go wrong.

Yomyuk you are absolutely correct, anyone who claims to be born again and does not exhibit these fruits genuinely is a liar.

"Born Again" has become an ID with a strong social status significance in a spiritually backward country like naija. What do you guys expect when "born againism" has become a trendy pseudo-religion all by itself?

That is the result of  religiousity without spirituality. Religions completely ruins man's inner republic, which in turn is projected out as corruption, evil, and such good stuffs. The state of the physical world we see around us everyday of our lives is the reflection, the representation of our totally sick inner republic. What else do you expect?
