Mr Governor stop wasting tax payers money. Lagos is surrounded by water, focus more on waterways buy ferries, let Lagosians start using alternative medium for transportation to ease the traffic tension

I see what Ambode is trying to do He deserves some commendation.

As things stand right now, Google maps does a whole lot better job.
Googlemaps gives real time traffic situation. It also offers alternative routes should there be heavy traffic on a particular route.

The barest minimum should be what googlemaps is currently offering. Else, this will be redundant.

But since it is Ambode, i am sure he'll deliver eventually. It might take a while, but he will deliver.

Looks nice but people don't be deceived. Ask urselves, how much of this installation was done and produced by indigenous companies. Probably nothing in this project was handled by a naija company. So, guess how much foreign reserve of Lagos state is going out to foreign companies and guess how would have been saved if an indigenous had the know was a major part of this project, probably this installation would have cost Lagos state 2times less than the cost of handling this project. So consider overall effect who did this project, though it makes Lagos look more modern, but can most other states in naija afford to install this system too, the answer is no because they can't afford it like Lagos state.
Imagine if our universities have a strong financial budget for research and development which can hyperdrive our own tech advancement to make and save or lots of money, so I wonder why a country like naija with enough human and intellectual resources will always need oyinbos and the chinese companies for any major hi-tech project that we embark on.

For now, na follow follow we dey do and most of us don't even realise how stupid our govt keep us behind by always relying on foreign hands do major project like this one because these politicians make lots of money from giving out these majoe contracts to foreign companies.

Another way to look at it. Probably some Lebanese guys are smiling to the bank now, after convincing and bribing lagos state govt to instal a useless infrastructure.
Valid points raised here. God bless you.

Bad roads everywhere. Fix the roads and traffic will ease or practically disappear

Don't know how dis can help alleviate the hectic traffic congestion witnessed by Lagosians now. Another useless initiative just like the Cleaner Lagos Initiative. Lagos is now more like a dump site.

Yes, a Lebanese contractor who successfully bribed the Lagos state govt for this white elephant project is winning and smiling to the bank now.
The worst thing is that most people don't really understand tgat a country that want to survive and thrive in a modern economy to has to have the tech know how which they use and also sell to generate foreign earnings. If our govt is always relying on always buying from the oyinbos and Chinese instead funding our universities for hitech devlpmnt project means they don't mean well for the posterity of this nation. In fact they could be classified as traitors of our development.

Eg, For the hype about Buhari wanting to share the recovered Abacha loot equally amongst all the 36 started, with his approach, the money will go into the same hands of dirty politicians who will misuse it. Instead of his proposed sharing formulae, a visionary leader would have allocated about 40% of that money to the hitech and biological research efforts ofuniversities in nigeria doing major work in this areas.
How does companies like IBM improve on their chip technology? It is through their funding of research effort in major US universities that gives them the answer to their tech questions. All these major tech companies rely mostly on the research findings of the universities to thrive. Amy nation thst wants to advance technologically cannot underestimate the importance it's university science/engineering professors and the PhD students because their work is major backbone of any nation's tech industry.
Another major problem is that our people just love the easy route to solving their problems and politicians are capitalizing on this culture and also getting very rich from our stupidity.

I have been seeing this latis on the billboard at Iyana Oworo and thought it was an APP. So this morning I googled it and stumbled on this forum.

Please what is this about? I am already out of my house, have started on the route and then see a billboard telling me about traffic situation. How long am I in front of that billboard to be able to read. Do I park my car and create further traffic or do I attempt to read while driving slowly and risk causing multiple accidents.

The people advertising this “laudable” project should please help me understand how this improves the life of Lagosians

You do not need to park in order for you to read the content on the screen neither drive slowly. The traffic information screen display at intervals estimated time of different destination. The pixel of the screen is so friendly and sharp that if you are 100m away you can see and read clearly.
