President of Atissa Youth Council Thanks Participants of Uge-Adiafa Festival.

President of Atissa youth council (AYC), Comr. Gianni Richard in a Press Statement after the Grand finale of the Uge-Adiafa Festival, thanked Various Youths, Women, Students Organization for their Active Participation in the Festival. He also used the medium to thank Traditional Rulers and Chiefs of Various Communities in the Atissa Kingdom who Contributed Positively to the Success of the Program"Uge-Adiafa Atissa 2018".


He said “Atissa Kingdom comprises of twelve(12) autonomous communities which host the Government House(Creek Haven) of Bayelsa State .The Festival showcases the rich cultural heritage of Atissa people's tradition that is being celebrated annually for decades now. It is another unique way of celebrating with our MOTHERS because the reason for the New Yam(festival) Uge-Adiafa came as a result of their farm proceeds, which they bring yams to the community leaders, families & well wishers to eat, dine & wine together which exhibits love, peace & unity amongst everyone. Also the reasons why Atissa people is being known for their hospitable, calm, intelligent characters will be attributed to the Uge-Adiafa annual festival. The feelings is spectacular.

“The leadership is also calling on the State Government, general public to sponsor this rich culture of the Atissa people in Subsequent Years.

“We also want to use this medium to give God the glory for restoring peace and order all through the festival, even though some enemies of Epie/Atissa ethnicity wanted to disrupt the occasion but God prevailed.
