If Nigeria is a developing country then that will put it in the same league as India, Brazil, China & South Africa, which is debatable

The retrogressive rate is alarming. But with good democratic government, which can be achieved through free n fair election, Nigeria can still move forward. But the issue is, can we have free n fair election in Nigeria? And that's where corruption comes in. We still have to fight corruption from the grassroot.
