Lagos States is a viable state and needs more land for a proper harmonisation of its mega city profile, I believe all suburbia areas around from Isheri to Sagamu should be part of a new and larger Lagos State, also the Yewa division of Ogun State which includes Otta and Ifo should also be included in the new Lagos State.

The New Ogun State would be the Egba’s, the Ijebu’s, and the Oke Ogun area of Oyo state. Oke Ogun as the name implies is where the River Ogun has it source and includes towns like Iseyin and Shaki among others.

The remainder of Oyo State which includes Oyo, Ogbomosho and Ibadan division would remain as the new Oyo State.

Same can be applied to other states in the federation by merging areas of similarities together thereby reducing the number or better still maintaining the present state structure but with minor and major Border Adjustments here and there.

For instance Asaba and other Delta Igbo areas of Delta State can merge with Anambra State with the Capital moved from Akwa to Asaba OR vice versa.

What other suggestions do you have ladies and gentlemen as State creation on a serious note is not the answer,  our  Administrative cost has ballooned we should be cutting down our cumbersome bureaucracy, to be able to have any meaningful development.

Have your say shocked

I thought I was the only one smoking pot. You want to give what belongs to Ogun state to lagos?whatever revenue Ogun generates from that area, they need it. What can happen is if Nigeria becomes regional, then state boundaries will be obsolete cause Lagos will be in same region as other Yoruba states.

@knowall, you have carried your ignorance here again, how would you expect something that belongs to ogun state to be given to lagos state. You should have start this thread at all. Do you think the egbas will fold their arms and allow somebody to take what rightfully belongs to them? I wonder how people reason, this is not a vote that can be stolen anyhow. You just have to think very well before starting threads. This is pure stupidity.

WISHES OF THE PEOPLE HAS TO BE CONSIDERED BEFORE ANY BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENTS. Asaba has never been in Anambra state before, and not willing to be. What the Igbo in Delta want is a state of their own (Anioma). Though some of them would want the state when created to be in the east. It is highly debatable. The Igbo in Delta also want a boundary adjusted that will carve Igbanke in Edo state into Anioma.
The Ndoki people who have been balkanised into Abia, Akwa Ibom and Rivers state also want to unite with their kins in Abia state.
Egbema people in Rivers state wishes to join their Egbema kins in Imo state.
Umunneochi LGA Abia state wants to join Imo state, so as to unite with their Okigwe kins.
Boundary adjustments should be welcomed but with the consent of the people to be affected.
