I remember sth that happened after his triumph with Under 17 flying eagles back then in 2007 abi 2008, I was in a cafe in Abuja, d guy working in d cafe then was gisting with one guy there telling him that Chrisantus was his classmate in secondary school, showed him pix of them together and said.....


"Me ryt now I be 29years and chrisantus say he never pass 17." (Tho he was just making fun of football age, not like he was hating)

Lol..similar experience. some years back, the barber in my area said he could swear that the goalie dele ajiboye had two kids..the same dele ajiboye that claimed to be 17 years..infact if you look back at that squad from Oseni to amodu, akinsola..Rabiu ibrahim..to Kingsley Udoh..the ones I can remember you could tell that they all lied about their ages that's why some of them never made it past Under 17 despite their Sucess at the tournament

I still remember that tournament like yesterday, late yomi Stella was their coach. Shameful no member of that squad made anything of their career. Yes, the ages of those players are very correct.

You are the one who has slavish(sic) mentality as you can't discuss an issue without bringing in Europeans. You don't need a soothsayer to tell you that the Nigerian u-17 team of 2007 was very overage. The way they steamrolled other teams with sheer strength and stamina was a testament to the fact that they were very old and experienced. I remember Nigeria played Haiti, a black country, in that competition. You could see very clearly that the Nigerian team was cheating.

Nigeria is the most successful team at u17 level but has never progressed beyond the round of 16 at senior level. The reason is simple: at age grade competitions,physical stature and stamina play decisive roles. Countries like Nigeria, Brazil, Ghana have used overage players to dominate the u17. At the senior level, skills and tactics matter and old age actually becomes a disadvantage. As a result, Nigeria is at best, average at the senior level.

Chrisantus is probably the most egregious example of age cheating in Nigerian football history. It's no surprise that he couldn't perform when playing at senior level. Dude, should be close to 50 years old.
