Just last week, the @theasovilla unveiled a new identity for its national carrier, NIGERIA AIR.

The unveiled identity was welcomed with a lot of clapbacks from a number of creative professionals and non-creatives analysing the logo.

IMO, I loved the idea/thinking behind the new identity, but for the execution.

I also foresaw that the identity would have issues when it comes to execution, application, and implementation on a number of collaterals, majorly the airplane.

As a brand identity specialist, and after reading two contrasting articles from @victorfatanmi, Art Director, @fourthcanvas, and @yemifetch, Creative Designer and Typographer, @fetchsignature (click link in their bios to read their views on the logo), I thought to try my hands on what I think the recently unveiled logo should have been from my own point of view, whilst picking a few ideas from their articles.

In less than two hours, I came up with this.

CONCEPT

Nigeria Flag + Eagle in flight, motion.

PHILOSOPHY

This was based off a number of characteristics of the Eagle.

Vision | Speed | Purpose | High Flyer

EXECUTION

Retention of two noticeable features from the logo in question - Flying Flag forming an Eagle in negative space.

However, I did away with the gradients and flowing flag and created an eagle in flight (motion) with raised head protruding forward depicting speed, purpose, intent, eyes on the goal, focus.

Happy viewing.

How do you mean this is not good enough?

What would you have suggested the designer should have done?

Raw skills?

Haba! Guy, I don't see this as raw skills o.

The concept was solid but the delivery even though true to the concept does not have an easy flow on the eyes. It somehow appears too spacial and some what too busy. There are two designs making the rounds on social media that are perfect and shame the 600 dollars design
