The world is about to experience its longest eclipse, totally different from the conventional Solar eclipse, the earth would be experiencing a Lunar eclipse tomorrow.

Lunar eclipse or Blood moon as it may be called would happen tomorrow, but this would be the longest Lunar Eclipse experienced this century.



The total time of the “blood moon” eclipse of July 27 will last 1 hour and 43 minutes, during which the moon will turn a spectacular red colour, from start to finish of the eclipse. The entire celestial event will last nearly 4 hours.

According to Lunar scientist Noah Petro, of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, the moon would not be visible v in North America, except for viewers who intend to use webcasts.

However, observers in Africa, the Middle East, southern Asia and the Indian Ocean region will get to see the eclipse better.

July’s total lunar eclipse occurs on the same day the planet Mars reaches its opposition when it will shine at its best in the night sky. This month, Mars will be at its closest to Earth since 2003.
