"Abuja-kaduna Train Records 900,000 Passengers In 2 Years" - NRC by Priscy01(f): 6:38am On Jul 27, 2018
The Nigerian Railways Corporation (NRC) said the Abuja-Kaduna train service has recorded approximately 900,000 passengers in two years.

The Manager of the train service, Mr Pascal Nnorli disclosed this yesterday at the two years anniversary celebration of the service at the Idu train station in Abuja.

“As at today when we checked, we saw that we have carried approximately 900,000 passengers in two years” he said.

He said the service has provided 600 direct jobs since inception.
President Muhammadu Buhari had on July 26, 2016, flagged off the commercial operations of the service.

Nnorli said “We have done well, based on the available infrastructure. Before 2016, we didn’t have any operational standard gauge railway in West Africa, this was the pioneer standard gauge operation in West Africa and here we are today carrying an average of 2000 passengers everyday to and from Abuja-Kaduna.”

He said e-ticketing will soon commence and access into the train terminal area would be electronically through the e-tickets.

“As a corporation, we are going further to make sure that we give people the best of rail service by introducing e-ticketing. The procurement process has started and we are in the next phase right now,” he said.

E-ticket all the way. That Kaduna road now is a nightmare considering the kind of wanton display of impunity by men of the underworld. Rail service seem to be the only safe way now around that axis. And please be careful in the evenings at the train station in Kaduna also.

FG is allowing herdsmen run havoc along the road to pile pressure on the rail and win over Nigerians with the rail. #mytheory.
