Liquidate his damn assets and affiliated ones, insurance policies and all should be dug up and taken to court for the victim's families. Let me get amen from the lawyers and investigators in the house, who knows what else you might find. I hope Nigerian/Bokoharam/fulani factor will not deny the victims justice

The owner is responsible for the truck and the driver, he's responsible for everything about the truck.

When you develop other ports in Nigeria, transportation would be easier. Arresting an innocent man ain't justice. Blame the government and not an innocent man. Rubbish.

Good work. Finding closure to the ones that lost persons in the inferno is a must. Thumbs up guys.

Hmmmmm, we have to define what closure means in this case.
For some it will be the ability to correctly identify their loved ones burnt to death so they can bury the correct bones, those ones don't really care about the arrest of the owner of the truck.Come to think of it, it's not a crime to own a truck , the driver and the LASG emergency outfits, plus the FRSC and police who did not quickly stop unwary motorists from proceeding to the accident spot before the tanker went up in flames have more questions to answer than a truck owner in Kano while his truck was working in Lagos

It's actually good. People may be forced to take their death machines off the roads.

Was it the tanker owner that drove it? Not trying to be insensitive but this arrest makes no sense

The owner of a business is vicariously liable for the conduct of his employees to certain extent. When registering your business, the type of registration option you choose(sole proprietorship, limited liability etc) determines your liability when issues like this comes up. Lawyers in the house can explain furthermore.

As the owner of the truck, he should make sure his tanker is in the best condition before hitting the road. Tankers are the cause of major accidents of the road. Simple brake failure issue, they will be managing untill disaster happens. Let this serve as a determent to other tanker owners.

Like someone asked in previous page, why hasn't Dangote been arrested for the numerous accidents caused by his trucks?

It seems that a lot of people missed this part of the post.

Hassan Maikwe of No.16 Hotoro Limawa, Kano was arrested yesterday. He is now helping the police in its effort to locate the driver of the ill-fated truck.

do the security agencies arrest Dangote when his trucks kills people?
Re: Police Arrest Owner Of Tanker That Caused Otedola Bridge Fire by adonaimart(m): 8:48pm On Jul 27, 2018
Safety laws should b made aware to all tanker drivers and other road users. Law enforcement agents should be more vigilant and alive to their responsibilities; if they are doing their jobs correctly, dis disaster may have been averted. Sadly, we as a people are not safety conscious.

Exactly, they're arresting the man to extort money from him.

Anyway, he is Hausa (going by his name) and he will get out this in good shape.

Edit: and as some people have asked, why has Dangote not been arrested for the numerous accidents caused by his trucks?

I'd like to see the answers because people are talking about closure and truck maintenance bla bla bla...this is Nigeria. That man was not arrested for any of the above reasons but to extort as much money as they can from him!

You think those agencies care about you, think again

You are also right in a way. Really FRSC has a lot to do than checking fire extinguishers and expired tires.

See what his tanker has caused, monies meant for development will be channelled to do DNA test, the driver must be prosecuted.
