Prof. Ubachukwu noted that the blood moon will be the century’s longest total lunar eclipse with a whopping one hour and 43 minutes in totality. Adding that it will start with a partial eclipse at 7:24 p.m while the total eclipse begins at 8.30 p.m., and ends at 10.13 p.m. The peak of the eclipse will occur at 9.22 p.m. The partial eclipse ends at 11.19 p.m.

Obviously, Nigerians were so eager to spot the blood moon and have a glimpse of how it looks like and to many who haven’t seen one before, it will surely be a glorious moment.

We at hitvibz decided to monitor the whole scene from Port Harcourt city and exactly 8:30pm, the blood moon appeared like a thief in the night, accompanied by a very good friend, a yellow shining star. On like every other Nigerian, the blood moon decided not to employ the African time system and appeared exactly as predicted

It was a bit cloudy in PH City as the blood moon kept appearing and disappearing, one could hardly get a stable glimpse of the beautiful scene.

As of 9:00pm, it disappeared completely and we kept wondering if that’s it? Just 30 minutes on stage and that’s all the blood moon could offer. The friendly shining star was gone too but they both appeared again moments later and completely disappeared at about 10:00pm, earlier than predicted.
