This month, we will consider the subject of faith; looking at the process of faith, measure of faith and lots more. However, today let us redress a matter. Many Christians have believed a lie about God; they say like Job said, “The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh.” Job made this statement because he thought it was the Lord who took his children, family and possessions. Job did not know that there are two spirits in the spirit realm; God and the devil. This is not the way the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob operates.

Nowadays, people quote from that passage when they lose a loved one and the priest says at the funeral, “The Lord giveth, the Lord taketh.” That passage was taken from the Bible but it is not a statement of Truth. Everything in the Bible is truly stated but not everything is a statement of Truth. The Lord gives, but He doesn’t give and take. The devil is a taker; the Bible calls him a thief. God is not a thief, He doesn’t take but He gives.

God is a giver and a father, and when He gives, the believer bears the responsibility of protecting and keeping what He has given. That is why the Bible says, “Hold fast what you have lest another take your crown.” God also warns us in the Bible, “Give no place to the devil,” that means you are responsible.

Therefore, if any evil takes place in your life, you gave the devil room, not that God forced evil on you. You should understand this truth as far as the word of God is concerned and delete the fallacy that the “Lord giveth and taketh”.

PRAYER: Lord, I see the reality in your word and I receive grace to hold fast to every good and perfect gift that you have given me in Jesus’ name.
