ORTOM: THE BENUE NIGHTMARE;THE NIGERIAN HERO!

1. He entered the APC through the window!
2. He blackmailed the PDP and blasphemed God to win the 2015 governorship election.
3. He used illegal tactics to install Hon. Ikyange as Speaker.
4. He audaciously inflated the state monthly wage bill from N2.7bn to N4.2bn.
5, He has deducted N50 million monthly from each of the 23 local government councils i.e. N33bn.
6. Privatized N22 billion in the name of security votes.
7. He warehoused N28 billion bailout;
8. Caused N13 billion FG budget support to evaporate.
9. He took N25bn loans that cannot be traced.
10. He supervised the disappearance of N20 billion Paris/London Club debt refunds.
11. He misappropriated over N300bn in Federal allocations.
12. He made a Boko Haram general, Alh. Teshaku, a Personal aide, and, for several months, paid N20m monthly into his account. (Teshaku is implicated in the murder of Reverend Fathers and parishioners).
13. He gave a gangland commander, Gana, a lucrative government consultancy, with the full compliments of security, staff, official convoys and unhindered Government House access.
14. He ceded Benue land, Agatu, to be specific, to Fulani herdsmen.
15. For months on end, Ortom confessedly paid millions of Naira to Fulani herdsmen as "compensations," for the supposed theft of their cows, but paid no compensation to the surviving victims of the herdsmen terror.
16. While closing down the Ministry of Agriculture, he turned his Oracle Farms into one of the biggest farms in Nigeria overnight.
17. Since 1976, no governor has spread poverty on a democratic scale like Ortom - owing salaries, pensions, gratuities...for upwards of 12 months.
18. Since 1976, no governor has used blasphemy as a state policy like Ortom: dropping God's Name at every opportunity, but doing scandalous things that will native doctors will balk at.
19. Since 1976, no governor has shown such executive mediocrity, gubernatorial ineptitude and managerial vacuousness as Ortom has exhibited so infamously.
20. But surprisingly, since 1976, no governor-whether civilian or military, has looted Benue so zealously, so audaciously and so rapaciously as Ortom has done, month by month, using such subheads as WAGE BILL, OVERHEADS, CARGO AIRPORT, CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE, WOOING INVRSTORS, MOUs etc.

Nigerians, who have a problem with Buhari or the APC are telling us:
HOW GOOD ORTOM IS - as if we are evil!
HOW COURAGEOUS ORTOM IS - as if we are cowards!
HOW CHRISTIAN ORTOM IS - as if we need his type of Christianity!
HOW LUCKY WE ARE IN BENUE - as if we cannot gratefully donate him to them!

But such Nigerians CANNOT tell us how wonderful our governor is. They SHOULD NOT even be allowed to think they would be allowed to think for us.
If they have issues with APC, let them get their PVCs ready. We too we have ours.
But we will never any demagogue to deceive us with demagoguery. After all, political parties don't embezzle allocations, loot loans and personalize the commonwealth.

All these evil gang up will not bring Orton down. Your cheap blackmail and propaganda will fail by the grace of God almighty! Cannibals drinking blood in Benue in the name of herdsmen and their supporters will all perish like pharaoh perish before the very eyes of the children of Israel.

Ortom is representing Benue entirely and dats y wat ever he(Ortom) does affect me and other well meaning Benue citizens directly. Re: The Disaster Called Ortom by Nobody: 10:52am On Aug 02, 2018
From 1999 to 2015, Suswan and Akume in thier first term in office tried alot for Benue but the two failed whole fully in their second term in office, but Ortom has nothing at all to show in his first term in office. Akume acted as Suswan god father in 2007 but later the two fell apart, and Suswan became a lord in the PDP. In 2015 when APC was formed newly, Hon. Emmanuel Jime a house of rep member under the then ACN was the only rightful candidate of APC. Ortom is the Candidate of Suswan from PDP while Hon. Tarzor is the PDP candidate from the Federal (Patience Jonathan' candidate). Ortom came third in the PDP primary election while former Suswan deputy Steve Lawani came second. Akume in APC realise that. Jime did not have money to match up with the combined Federal and state forces so he brought in Ortom from PDP less than 24 hours after PDP primaries and gave him automatic governorship ticket without primary election thereby depriving Jime of what legally belong to him, although Jime went to court but the case was latter settled out of court. Benue as at then were ready to vote for any big candidate outside PDP because of the poor performance of Suswan in his second term in office. Today after Ortom have finished sharing the state alocation, IGR, Paris club refund, bailout fund, Budget support and money ment for Idps with his godfathers, it's now Akume and APC realised that Ortom will be a liability to them if he succeeded in getting 2019 governorship ticket under the party. Ortom also realised that if he remain in APC, they will not give him the ticket so he had to decamped to PDP. Jime that was deprived of the APC ticket in 2015 is the one Akume is Packaging for 2019. The same people that are calling Ortom Mr wheelbarrow are the ones still Supporting him with his poor performance in office, if you don't know these are the real enemies of Benue state. I hope they will ask him to show them one single project he initiated or the ones aboundoned by Suswan that he continued or completed. No salaries to even reduce the suffering of the people rather the only thing he knows how to do is to hide under Herdsmen killing to loot the State treasury. Some people outside Benue thought that the Fulani killing occurs in all parts of the state or LG Areas of Benue state, and that it is when there is life that you can talk of development. Even states that are receiving less allocation performed far better than Ortom but their hatred for APC make them blind to see what is going on in Benue state. They are four problems that are prevalent in Benue right now, first is unpaid salaries, second, no single project going on in any part of the state, the third is total collapse of local government councils and the fourth is the Fulani herdsmen crisis going on in some parts of the state in which the governor is the biggest beneficiary of these crisis. People should not be surprise if Orton failed to win 2019 election because of his selfishness and greed. 2019 should be the time Benue will said no to Akume's godfatherism and Orton's inefficiency, but I doubt if another candidate outside APC and PDP will win any position in Benue comes 2019. At last we will still end up in the hands of these heartless beings. If not for APC and Akume's factors, Jime is far far better than Ortom. With all these going on, the Benue legislatures did not see anything wrong in the state since their inauguration in 2015 even though the house is almost 50/50. Ever since Ortom came in there are no provision for project in the budget but non of them complained about the issue, they unanimously passed the budget just like that, it's now they are behaving as if they are fighting for the common man. As a lawmaker, it should be a shame if throughout your stay in the office you never for once go out for oversight function. I guess their only achievement in office is the passage of anti open grazing bill in Benue which is not even effective and has not been enforced in most parts of the state because the governor is even the chief beneficiary of the crisis.

The anti open grazing law is not only applaudable but a monumental achievement regardless of Orton's shortcomings, it is for the good of Benue people. At least the law is in place. What is needed now is implementation cum enforcement. Don't be determined to see bad in others, see their positive sides too, you are not perfect either. Even buhari has dropped in Nigeria rating right now.

That means there are enemy of progressive ideas within the Benue citizenry hell bent on collapsing that state. I fear for the future of the people in the state. There is no future for them as things stand right now even without Ortom. The only option is for the indigenous people to surrender the state and become subjects to Fulani feudal lord.

Are you suggesting that since Ortom has been the chief beneficiary in the alleged herdsmen crisis he may have in some ways encouraged it?
Yes. Ortom claimed to have spent over N40 billion on the Herdsmen crisis and IDPs including flood disaster victims even though state receive support from NEMA and WIKE donated about N200 million to the state. The higher the level of killing, the higher the security vote. There are cows still moving up and down in Benue even in markurdi the state capital. The law have not been enforced yet, and also, remember that it is not every part of the state that have issues with the herdsmen so you can't see a Fulani man and his cow and arrest them just like that for no reason, it may lead to another crisis. Wike that was insulting Ortom for poor performance in office when Ortom and other APC governors went to Rivers state for campaign during Senatorial election, the same Ortom now is a saint because he has change from APC to PDP

You know I said practically the same thing on some threads on nairaland and people called me crazy.

I told them that now that Ortom has defected to the PDP the killings in Benue have suddenly stopped. That is not coincidence.

Formerly practically for one.month we were being blasted with daily reports of killings In Benue but now there is a very profound silence. Not even from the most remote village would you hear of any death. People called me insane.

From what you just said I can clearly say that Ortom probably had some paid mercenaries whose job was to deliberately cause mayhem and even kill Benue people in order to further fuel the greed of Ortom.

Am I correct with this assertion?

Don't argue about wat u kno nothing or little about

Akume was a governor for two consecutive times and performed far better than Ortom and Suswam combined. The problem Benue ppl have with Akume is his plight to b the state political godfather which seems not to work for him but he don't want to accept that in gud fate.
As for Ortom, he should go and learn how to stage some acts from Fayose cus from all indications, he's still a learner. tongue
