Of all the ethnic groups it seems Igbos have a disproportionate amount of Feminism.

Why do you think this is?

Feminism at its best helps women to achieve self actualisation and boosts their self esteem. At its worst, it makes women look at men as their enemies.

Feminism at its best is a manifestation of a strong personality with intellectual depth trying to make sense of the world.

Feminism at its worst is symptomatic of an inferiority complex burdened with a victim mentality.

Where else is independence more alive in Nigeria than in Igbo land?

Why would anyone expect feminism to thrive in the North of all places?

Igbo women appear to have a long history of being... "headstrong" (for lack of a better word). From the powerful Umuokpu/Umuada to the Nwaobiala Movement of 1925 and the Women's War of 1929. There is a common trend.

They have always been assertive.
