China will be a colonial master and they are using Africa..

Of course China can probably become a new "colonial master" in the African continent if we allow the balance of relationship to tip too far in their favour. They have the capacity and funds to assist us develop our economies, but it comes at a price, Chinese companies are taking over everywhere, China gives infrastructural loans with condition that the projects must be executed by Chinese companies; In the end, we may have a situation where Africa owes China so much that we become practically dependent of them for economic survival.


But we can also be smart in dealing with them by negotiating trade deals with them, requesting that their companies partner with our indigenous companies in executing capital projects, and using their cheap loans to build our industrial capacity so as to enable us boost our productivity.


All in all, China-Africa partnership is a concept that could pan out either very good or very bad, the choice is in our hands.
