Exactly 7pm, my phone rang. The caller's number hidden. I picked it
'Hello,teacher!
Who is this?
'A friend !
The voice sounded very familiar,
'Oh, Meningitis doctor!
I could hear him laughing out loud over the phone.
'I'm sorry, Our introduction was bad. My name is Opeyemi Favour
'It's fine, Am Victoria Akins! I replied.
'I promised to call, Can i pick you up by 8pm? Don't say No..
'Hmmm.... Ok! No problem. I replied.
'Thanks dear. Will be with you soon. He replied and hung up.


I checked my box immediately, i had a short red dinner gown.
It should look nice, i quickly changed into it, i repolish my lips,my makeup and brush my weavon. I brought out my silver stone heels with matching purse and earrings.
"Indeed, am looking attractive and beautiful. I said.

He arrived few minutes, He came with a deep blue lexus jeep, i wondered how a young guy could afford this. The weather was cold unlike the afternoon when it was hot, The streetlights hung around the tiled road, i could see people selling and buying by the side of the road.

We passed through Jigawa tower along Byepass road.
He pointed the Sabon Kasuwa market which was by the left side of the road. Next was a junction. Mechanic village, we proceded to Yalwawa.

"That's FUD he spoke!
"What is FUD? i asked.
"Federal University Dutse. He replied.
"Oh nice. I replied, nonchantly.

We were along another road , i could see a sign post G9. I needed to know the roads since, i was new in town.We put a stop at Hasinah Confectionery. A small eatery, the place wasn't worth my dressing. The place was crowded, there was no space to seat. I looked around.

"Is this the only the place, this city could provide? Oh! I missed Lagos.

Few minutes later, some persons stood to go, we got their seat.
'You are beautiful, Victoria!
'Thanks, i smiled blushing.
'I hope you will enjoy yourself tonight?
I looked around, too many faces kept staring at me. My gown was short, below my knees, a tube top gown, i had bought during my trips to Calabar.
I glanced round the eatery, about ten sets of tables with chairs. I doubted if they could have what i needed.
'What do you care for? He asked me.

"Just drink? Are you on diet?

The glass was transparent one could see outside clearly. Bike men were passing and some people were buying and selling. I could see two young men talking to each other, they were neatly dressed probably, they were posted on special assignment.

One of them walked in, he seemed like a regular customer. He was greeted by some waiters. He proceeded to sit next to mine, i noticed he was staring too. I brought out my phone and checked my mails. Nothing unusual.

It's fine, i collected the maltina with mixed chips and chicken.

He narrated his journey and all about himself, he kept talking nonstop. He was practically trying to erase my boredom but he made it worse. I became superbored.

'Favour! I finally called his attention
Yes,! Do you need anything? just tell me. Oh! I forgot to tell you i stay around Takur adua. It's not too far from where you logde.
You can get to taste homemade food.

I was getting more pizzed off. I got up. He appeared shocked.
"I need to go!
"Buh, we just got here?
"You havent eaten at all.
"It's past 10. I replied.
"Oh. Sorry.

He stood up, beckoned on the waiter to pack it for me. I walked out of the eatery. I noticed someone was following me.

"If you dont mind, here is my card! Call me.
He gave me and left.
No formalities. I guessed he knew i was with someone.
I smiled, i opened the card.

I didnt respond. I placed the card neatly in my purse.

Favour was talking again, i paid no attention. I just hum silently, i had wasted my good time with a talkative.

We got down from the car and headed to the reception. I collected my key and we both walked into Room105.
