“We urge Nigerians and the international community to condemn this illegal invasion of the National Assembly complex and the attempt to asphyxiate the legislature as undemocratic, uncivilized and irresponsible.”

DSS officials invaded the National Assembly, leading to the sacking of Lawal Daura, Director-General of the DSS, by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.

The National Assembly leadership thereafter called off its scheduled joint meeting, which was to, among others, consider President Muhammadu Buhari’s request for funds for the organization of the 2019 elections.
