Good evening fellow NLanders.
Please, is it right to say "The event will hold in Lagos Island" or "The event will hold on Lagos Island"?
I'm working on something and I'll appreciate a quick, educated reply.
Richiez, olawalebabs, fynestboi. Didn't know what section to put this in really.

The event will hold in Lagos Island.
You can't use "on".
Instead say "The event will hold on the Island".

Okay bro, but why so grammatically? I'm asking because you see statements like "Mandela was imprisoned on Robben Island." I'm beginning to think one could use 'on' more correctly.
