Securing your home is now a must due to the high increase of Kidnapping, Rape, Child Abduction and Buggery. Many homes never have some basic clue to help save guard themselves from this crime. It helps to avoid being a victim of this crime if you can apply this simple and modern method on how to secure your home against intruders.

Get a dog:

Many people seems not to know the important of having a dog. It could be a local breed popularly called "Bingo" in Nigeria, or you can get a foreign breed which is also called "Police Dog".

Apart from being a pet and mans best friend, dog has the ability to sense impending doom waiting to happen, or notice some strange movement around the house by some unknown person.

Getting a dog helps you to be at alert or help you to be aware of whats happening around you. Caring and maintaining a local and foreign dog is very cheap compare to hiring a security guard which could not be aware of strange movement due to some distraction or something.

So, i will advice anyone who need some fair security in their home to have a dog to help you be vigilant.

This mode of securing your home could be expensive for some medium or lower income earners in Nigeria due to the economic situation in the country. but what can be expensive than securing your life from intruders.

CCTV cameras helps you to monitor movement within and outside your home. It gives you the liberty to watch who always stand or pip into your house when you are not away or sleeping.

CCTV cameras also help in fishing out hidden agenda by passerby or people living around you. It gives you knowledge of what happen around you and its highly recommended to have in your home if you can afford it.

Just as its name implies, alarm system are now modernize and most time you can get signal anywhere you are notifying you that an intruder has gotten access into your house.

Most people always link this signal to the nearest police station which will alert them that they need to rush or check a particular house to see whats happening there.

This gadget maybe very expensive and comes with some technical process but it worth loosing all your property or love ones.

Some advance alarm system are internet enable, which you can use to monitor any strange movement anywhere in the world with your smart phone or smart watch.

One major reason why people are attacked in their homes is because they surround themselves with darkness. Security wise, you are expected to have a very bright light out-side and inside your house.

Someone may decide to take the advantage of the dark area of your home to snick into your house. Some may even hide for some hours waiting patiently for you to come back from work or go to bed before they do their evil intention.

Having some security light around your home will help people around to also see whats happening and also alert the police if they notice any strange movement.

Re-check Your Door, Gate and Window Before Going to Bed or Going Out.

This is one of the most simple means of securing your home. Most times people forget to lock their doors, window or gate because they believe that they have done so.

Re-checking your doors, and other area of your house will help you keep your environment safe. This simple step can help you avoid people getting easy access to your home when you are not away or asleep.

I will advise you to try to be vigilante.

Keep Away Construction Tools in Your Home

Always keep away your tools away from public area or from strangers. Tools like Ladder, Hammer, Sew or any hard object that an intruder can use to gain access into your home easily, should be kept far away from outsides.

There are many case where people forget to keep their ladder or hammer and someone use it to break open the doors, window or roof of your building just to gain access to the house.

Try to keep such object away from public eyes to avoid stories that touch

Conclusion:

Keeping your home save and secure is your responsibility. Always try to practice these (six) steps mention in this post to help save your life and that of your family.

Thanks
