National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Lagos state Bola Tinubu has called on former president Olusegun Obasanjo to face his “chicken and egg business”.

According to Punch, Tinubu made this known at the Lagos APC secretariat in Ogba on Tuesday during the party’s stakeholders’ meeting.

Tinubu was reacting to Obasanjo’s recent criticism of the President Muhammadu Buhari-administration. The former senator said that of Obasanjo had laid a strong foundation when he became president in 1999, Nigeria will not be in the mess it is in today.

Switching between English and Yoruba languages, Tinubu said:

Look at us in Lagos, we can get angry with one another, it is only God that has perfection. When you elected me as governor, I laid the foundation. If we didn’t lay the foundation for Lagos, there’s no amount of wisdom that Fashola may have that will make the state as progressive as it has been.

If we didn’t lay the foundation, there’s no amount of wisdom that Ambode may possess that will make things as smooth as they are…so, Obasanjo that is talking, if he had laid a strong foundation in Abuja, the country would not have scattered; things would not have been going the way they are going. And you (Obasanjo) want to sit in Ota; face your chicken and egg business.

You cannot govern from Ota; you cannot tell us who to vote for; you have used up your time. Let us tell Obasanjo so. Our Buhari is our own; we were the ones who brought him and we will secure the second term for him.

Former governor of Lagos State and one of the leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has asked Nigeria’s former leader, Olusegun Obasanjo to serve as a navigator for the party.

Tinubu made the call Saturday night, when a delegation of the party’s leaders met with Obasanjo in Abeokuta, capital of the western Nigerian state of Ogun.

“You have come out of tribulation and held the highest position in this country. We are here because of your courage and salient points. Nobody can say he has information more than you,”Tinubu said.

“You have surmounted a number of crises. Nigeria is divided more than before. To realise a stable Nigeria, we want to encourage you to continue to speak the truth. We have resolved and determined to rescue Nigeria. We want you to be our navigator”, he added.
