post=70331745: I don't understand you Bro. You don't hear such sources as "a former staff who refused to be named" , "an eye witness who pleaded anonymity".? You tell police the source and they go after him? You should rather be concerned whether he verified the information or not. 2 Likes |

post=70331745: Wisdom you say? Your comment is foolishness at its peak. One of the salient rules of journalism is the protection of sources even on the threat of death. Besides, why does he even have to reveal his source? Isn't press freedom one of the gains of democracy? Or doesn't FOI apply to this present government? 2 Likes |

post=70331745: Trust and integrity are sacred in journalism. Provided the report is not false, the journalist is not expected to reveal his source because as in this case, it will clearly put such a person or source in harm's way and constitutes a breach of trust; it is certainly no form of wisdom under any guise. It is completely wrong for the Police to demand his source. If what he published is untrue they should officially deny and then charge him to court in the proper way not in this lawless manner of denying him legal representation. 2 Likes |

post=70331745: I am also a journalist by education and it goes against the ethics of the profession to divulge such information. The law also states you cannot be compelled to reveal such, besides ince you do your street cred is destroyed for life and no ither snitch or source will ever give you info again meaning your life in the game is over. |
