The Paraguayans only need to draw this match to qualify for the next round of the World Cup, while New Zealand finds itself in the unexpected position of being able to qualify for the knockout rounds of the tournament if it can pull off an improbable win against its South American opponent on Thursday. After drawing with Italy in the first round, Paraguay pulled off an impressive 2-0 win over Slovakia to climb to the top of Group F.

New Zealand has punched above its weight at the 2010 Football World Cup drawing matches against Slovakia and Italy and will need to produce another dogged display to get anything from this match.

Frankly speaking, i voted for New Zealand to win tonite's game b'cos i like/cherish that country so much/well but sincerely speaking paraguay gat more upper hand (better and expirience players) than New Zealand but their (NZ)1st ever W.C ponit against slovekia and defending champions italy and their impressive and aggressive run in this tournament has shown that they'r truely prepared for this W.C and i won't be surprised if they'r the winner at the end of the day! my dream country to be. NEW ZEALAND ALL THE WAY!!!

this is the best outing for new zealand in their world cup history, 3 matches without a loss

The Kiwi's will return home with their heads held high despite not going beyond the group phase. The didnt lose a match and they held their own against strong opposition. They were ranked outsiders for the competition but they have surprised everyone, finishing third in a group that has Paraguay, Slovakia and Italy without a defeat
