Tyson Fury took it to Francesco Pianeta on Saturday night and, with a confident element of professionalism and show of courage, eased to a unanimous points decision win in Belfast.

The “Gypsy King” always looked comfortable throughout the fight at Windsor Park, showing what his class is and what has made him a former heavyweight world champion from yesteryear.

The Wythenshawe-born fighter took his career record to 27-0-0, to still retain his unbeaten record.

The lineal heavyweight champ started very fast, opening his body up and dropping his hands on regular occasions.

His weight loss and new-found physique allowed gives him more flexibility than he did in his highly-criticised comeback fight with Sefer Seferi in June.

Pianeta was not really a threat as he landed one or two blows to his opponent in the early rounds, but as the bout moved into the latter stages, Fury’s quality shone. Winning the fight was never in any doubt.

The three judges scored the fight, deservedly and unsurprisingly, heavily in the Englishman’s favour.

Post-fight, Fury called the fight a “calculated boxing performance” and said it was “no secret he needs the rounds.”

WBC Heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder was ringside for Fury’s victory and Tyson Fury vowed to knock out WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

The pair exchanged words as Fury’s promoter Frank Warren said the bout was a done deal and that more details would be made available next week.

If not that I find heavyweight boxing boring I would have watched this match.
This Tyson guy is really living up to his first and last name. I honestly want to see a Wilder upset but for some reason if fought on American soil I believe they’ll rob Tyson of the victory.
