If the quality of the team-mates in the club is better than the country, then they will have a shitty tournament.
Look at Rooney. . . . . .I don't think he can replicate his blistering form this season in the tournament - There's no Valencia and Nani to lay it on the plate for him. All we keep seeing in 3 Lions are Lennon, SWP and Milner whose crosses cannot clear the first marker.

Only 2 players Friedrich and Klose would be over 27.

Dayo you speak fom both sides of your mouth sometimes . You have done done nothing but villified English football in its entirety over the years and even two days ago, you predicted doom and gloom for the English team in their second round match against "the Great Germans" , all of a sudden you are giving excuses for a highly likely German loss to England.

On the contrary, I would have surmised that the Germans been a youthful team will use that as an adavantage to overcome the supposedly " inept , clumsy and incompetent " English team that is the second oldest team in this World Cup tourney.

I believe you see the inevitable happening- which is England beating the Germans !!, and using the absense of some players as an excuse to justify their loss. I have made a calculated decision not to bet on this match because it is highly unpredictable due to the fact that it is going to be more of a mental and emotional game than physical or skill-based- the Germans traditionally should win in such a situation but I think England has the mental edge at the moment , ( and this can be observed from the jittery and ridiculous comments by Franz beckenbauer ), I'll show my hands, see below,

while I agree with the bolded part to an extent, it doesn't apply to all situations such as in england's case.

Do you realise that England has one of the biggest talent pools in the world. Rooney,Gerrard,lampard,lennon, Milner, just to name a few. 

we all know that these players are world class and magnificent at their respective clubs. in reality, Rooney, ideally has an unfair advantage as he

is presented with the luxury of being sorrounded by far greater talents than most stikers in this torny.

The Cameroonian team and eto'o or Pienar and the bafana bafana would have been a more appropriate case study to strengthen your argument. simply put
